If your running from CDRom you will need to use the -f2 switch to tell the installer where to create the setup log -f2%systemdrive%\drivers\setup.logis an example that I use in xplode.

Flashget, backup the reg info in this key [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\JetCar\JetCar\General]

@BAM For your shortcuts you could try adding these lines to your winnt.sif file [Components] IEAccess = Off OEAccess = Off WMPOCM = OffThese will as Microsoft says You could then create a SFX with winrar that extracts the links to your desired folder.

@evilvoice here's the link Here is a smaller xplode screen that I use after logging on, if you want the pngs I'll uplode them somewhere and send you a link.

Explorer's Search - Advanced Option
benners replied to masterpp's topic in Unattended Windows 2000/XP/2003
;Enable Searching Of Hidden Folders [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer] "SearchSystemDirs"=dword:00000001 "SearchHidden"=dword:00000001 "IncludeSubFolders"=dword:00000001 will enable the search options, but, as for enabling the Advanced Options all the time, I haven't found a way. -

quick question: RunGuiOnce DEL stuff
benners replied to 1boredguy's topic in Unattended Windows 2000/XP/2003
Del is not a program as such it is a command run by cmd.exe, so the files will not get deleted. The easiest way would be to make a cmd or batch file with the commands in it, or, try cmd.exe /c del "%systemroot%\Blue Lace 16.bmp" but I would go with the cmd file -
Cannot get past text-mode setup stage
benners replied to ZiKi's topic in Unattended Windows 2000/XP/2003
@Mhz Thanks @Ziki When the machine reboots do you see the "Press any key to boot from CD" prompt? or does it jusy continue the install process?.What you could try is when the machine reboots after text mode setup, eject the disc until it boots from /hd then re-insert it and see if setup continues, if it does it is probably a cd problem, or maybe a stuck key that is accepting the boot prompt -
Help! I get all the way to "Saving Settings"
benners replied to kd4yum's topic in Unattended Windows 2000/XP/2003
If your getting stop errors during setup then there is something seriously wrong with you hardware, my guess would be memory, if you have multiple sticks remove them leaving only one and try the install again, repeat until you find the duff stick, (if it is memory that is, just my first guess) -
Cannot get past text-mode setup stage
benners replied to ZiKi's topic in Unattended Windows 2000/XP/2003
It sounds to me like you do not have the bootfix.bin in the I386 folder, or another timeout method on the cd. If this is the case the disc will continually reboot as seems to be happening, Either restore the bootfix.bin file or create a menu using cdshell like in the picture -

MountPointManagerRemoteDatabase
benners replied to benners's topic in Unattended Windows 2000/XP/2003
@Kishiro I have still not made any progress , I think the file is linked to Dynamic disks so in theory it should only be written to (hence a time stamp change) if you have changed your drives to dynamic. I don't understand why it needs to be created if the drives are normal, or, why it is only in SP2, as dynamics disks have been around since Win2k (I think) -
In your winnt.sif file add [Data] AutomaticUpdates = Yes

GetRight 5.1 Silent w/ Registration key
benners replied to Astalavista's topic in Application Installs
Flashget is the one I use as well, I prefer the gui better -
Just installed it the correct way and if you check the uninstall log you can see the files it install and the reg keys it creates, it doesn't seem much different to my previous post except it adds HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE||SOFTWARE\Fraggers.net which has the path to the client and service

I only tested it in windows but the /s switch worked, an explorer window popped up with the shortcuts in it, and error from DUControl.exe saying I dont use this program just having a play to see I could help, sorry it didn't work Could you not just copy the directory it is installed to and create a reg file with [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run] "DUControl"="\\\\DUControl.exe" to start the program at runtime and [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\DirectUpdate] "Type"=dword:00000110 "Start"=dword:00000002 "ErrorControl"=dword:00000001 "ImagePath"=hex(2):22,00,5c,00,5c,00,44,00,55,00,53,00,65,00,72,00,76,00,69,00,\ 63,00,65,00,2e,00,65,00,78,00,65,00,22,00,00,00 "DisplayName"="DirectUpdate engine" "ObjectName"="LocalSystem" [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\DirectUpdate\Security] "Security"=hex:01,00,14,80,90,00,00,00,9c,00,00,00,14,00,00,00,30,00,00,00,02,\ 00,1c,00,01,00,00,00,02,80,14,00,ff,01,0f,00,01,01,00,00,00,00,00,01,00,00,\ 00,00,02,00,60,00,04,00,00,00,00,00,14,00,fd,01,02,00,01,01,00,00,00,00,00,\ 05,12,00,00,00,00,00,18,00,ff,01,0f,00,01,02,00,00,00,00,00,05,20,00,00,00,\ 20,02,00,00,00,00,14,00,8d,01,02,00,01,01,00,00,00,00,00,05,0b,00,00,00,00,\ 00,18,00,fd,01,02,00,01,02,00,00,00,00,00,05,20,00,00,00,23,02,00,00,01,01,\ 00,00,00,00,00,05,12,00,00,00,01,01,00,00,00,00,00,05,12,00,00,00 [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\DirectUpdate\Enum] "0"="Root\\LEGACY_DIRECTUPDATE\\0000" "Count"=dword:00000001 "NextInstance"=dword:00000001 to start the service, then import it.As far as I can see the installer just extracted the files and added the reg keys.

GetRight 5.1 Silent w/ Registration key
benners replied to Astalavista's topic in Application Installs
Backup these values [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Headlight\GetRight] "Shareware"=dword:00000001 "GRCode"="Your Code Here" and create a reg file, then import the reg file before installing the app with the /s switch, Getright loads the tray icon after install so you may want to kill getright.exe. I tested this from in windows but have not tried it from an unattended CD -
try using DUSetup363.exe /S
-
Try this 1. Expand the moviemk.in_ from I386. 2. Edit the expanded file and delete everything under [DefaultInstall], then save. 3. Delete the moviemk.in_ from I386. 4. Add the moviemk.inf to I386. this should then not install the program when you use the unattended disc.

Maybe via WinRAR, creating a SFX & using the "Run after extraction" option in SFX options, but cmd is prolly the easiest.
