i figured out the problem it was in his bios that the acpi had to be enabled

ok heres my question, first off i dont have dsl but a friend of mine is thinking about getting it and he asked me a question and i really couldnt answer it,, btw im running cable my self. well the question was can you run a regular phone line into a dsl box from your phone company and it still work ? i told him im not sure but i think he would need a heftyer phone line cable,, but im not sure,, so this is where you guys come in,, can some one tell me the answer to this one ? thanks

alot of the time you can install the program through cmd prompt with the /? after it and normally get some ideal of some switches you can use

thanks for the replies guys well ill have to test this all out but it sounds about right, ill test it out sunday, the pc i need to do it on is about an hour away from me but heres a question for yall,, the hard drive was wiped clean by deleting all partions then reformating followed by an instal,, now with them steps why does it show 2 os's.... now that one is gonna puzzle me, ill let you guys know how it turned out after sunday thanks again

hi my brother has a hp pavillion 700 desktop pc and we just did a clean install of xp pro on it and when ever we go to turn the pc off the way it works is this it turns off but gets to this screen that says its now safe to turn off your pc, but once it gets to that screen it dosnt do anything he has to hit the power button once at that screen to turn it off now my question is, ? i hvnt seen this in xp and especially not on my pc, so im thinking this maybe a hardware issue, is there a way to fix this so it shuts off normally ? other then having to hit the power button once at that screen

hi my brother just got a used pc and he wanted it reset and have installed with xp pro, well he asked me to help him because i reset my pc all the time,, well he has a hp pavillion 700 and as we got into the bios changed the order and then we deleted all partions then installed his os , we formatted the hard drive then installed xp pro, now the problem is, now when ever we turn the pc on he is promted with a os page before loading that asked for what os does he want to run and it gives him more then one choice, it gives him xp home and xp pro is there a way to fix this so that it only shows xp pro and boots straight to pro ? right now im scratching my head as to why its doing this and how its doing it, it should only have pro on it, the old drive was completly wiped clean and formatted. but i have seen some thing strage ,, well i tried to fix this problem so i went to reinstall the xp pro clewanly, and i noticed, where the old partitions were that i deleted it reads, unknown device or some thing but over all when formatting, the disk formatted his full hard drive, so wheres this other os comming from ? and how ? why ? and most of all is there a way to correct this ?

i can get this program to install silently, but does any one know how to register it ?

hi im afraid i have no ideal wher them keys are in the registry it throws me off by reading the FLAG1=HKCU part where is that exactly ?

@Mazin hi im having trouble with my ACDSee 7.0 PowerPack - Full install, ive used your method and everything installs and it even registers full version,, but when i test it out after the instal, all the pictures come up black . any ideal what im doing wrong, ?

ok now ive tried installing using the /VERYSILENT /SP- switches and still no luck on bypassion the file association screen anybody have any ideal why i cant get around this ? or even a way to silently instal the new version 3.0 ?

hi thank you for the info on that program, i know of many progs that do this task but ive never tested them out my self, all the information that ive really found on them is to beware of them that they are dangrous, what im looking for is ppl that have actually used these programs and there opinions on them, on did it help them, and would they suggest them.. thanks

ive tested test 3 build and its having a fast reset after installing. ill keep testing the others

you should really try using the search button before you ask this type of question, well any ways heres a guide to do what you want http://unattended.msfn.org/index.htm if you need help after that ask your questions in the unattended section and applications hope this helps you out

now thats a handy tool, ive never lost my keys and i know the reg key to find it at but thats a great tool for some of my drunk friends lol

i dont know of a way to reinstal it with out the cd but if your looking to fix a few problems that you may have encountered by changing a few things on the pc and your not trying to get a clean fresh instal then maybe you should look at checking out the system restore feature and try installing back to a date that was more suitable to your taste hope that helps you some

thanks for the replys guys, im running regscrubxp its a free prog and works fine but what id really like to look into is the optimizing of registerys, does it really help out, so far what i can gather up is theres many dangers in trying such a thing

hi let me get every ones advice on these types of programs that are Registry Optimizer are they safe to use, are they even worth having ? ive read some where to stay away from progs like these, but yet i still see alot of ppl using these types of progs, can some one fill me in on what they think about these,, would they use them, even own them ? are they even worth the hassle..? pls lend me your thoughts.
