nice update mike just intime for my new disk

hi all i was just testing out my scripts in vmware and i came across this prob,, what it is, is that im trying to alter my start menu so it looks nicer and 1 prog gave me a strange prob and id like your advice on what i should do first off im trying to move my link winamp.lnk to my audio players folder heres my batch to move it and delete it after wareds now heres the error that poped up on me when i ran this script,, im not sure what to do, if i manually press D, everything works fine but how can i get around this , ive never came across this prob before

its not working to bad for me,,, ive noticed a few of them have the greyish background as you talked about and to fix that on most of the ones ive seen so far ,, all i did was open that image up in paint program and fill the back ground color in with white to make it match,, most of the time this will work as a fix,

Personally i like this idea myself. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> yea im gonna go with the transparent icons myself its alot smoother then using snap shots of the progs

hakeem5454 no offense but have you even tried using the search feature yet,, these progs have beendiscussed before

i stand corrected but your right but it really isnt the best method and runonceex is better to find your faults at.. you can run batch and everything else from cmdlines but its not the best way to go about it all

that sounds like a sweet system,, but 1 question why the 1.75 TR Raid HD ? really whats so good about it,, and geesh thats alot of room,, what all do you plan on putting in it to come any where close to filling an 8th of that up?

it sounds like you may have a registery tweak conflicting with the instal, IE should have no problem opening that.. id say look at your registry tweaks first and if you cant find anything there attach your reg file and im sure some one will be able to see if thats the problem

hmm very strange then,, im not sure what to tell you then,, except for try to autoit, or vb script it or use some other way to remake the installer.

well the best way to test your iso with out doing on the pc meaning using tons of cd-rs,, you could test your iso with vmware or vpc,, those are virtual enviornments and to open a hta,, you can either use a text editor that opens that type of file like ultra edit,, or just simple rename the hta extension to .txt while you work on it and you can open it up but if your looking for the file that holds your programs to instal thats in config.js hope that helps

first off if your trying to instal apps CMDLINES.TXT and [GuiRunOnce] are really just used to call out to the real method used to installing the apps.. each can be used to call your runonceex.cmd and with in this file youd put all your programming, syntax to install all your programs,, that way it will install everything that you ask.. for more information read here http://unattended.msfn.org/ there youll get everything you need to know even the time line

ok i fixed the code some and it works like a champ, it was a sweet ideal heres what i did heres an example of what it looks like with the image and text,, let me know what ya think

how exactly are you testing your scripts,, me i like to test mine in VMware,, because it represents a clean instal in a virtual enviornment if you just testing it straight from command prompt off your pc,, the switches may not be working/conflicting due to something in your pc,, just a thought but let us know

@Astalavista ive installed this program,, the logon studio and the iconpacker im not sure what one of these 3 programs is doing it yet,, but after wpi finishes,, the wincustomize folder pops up that hold the shortcuts for these programs .. any ideals ? does this happen for anybody else ?

@totoymola its the right key,, i went into my reg and copyied down the key [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\soft4kids\btengine] and then tested it out in my unattended script and it worked like a champ.. i was a bit thrown off at the soft4kids part,, thats why it threw me off for so long and i never placed it right.. but thanks,, you pointed me in the right direction for any body trying to register this product just copy that reg key after youve installed it and it will work great im not really sure about using it unregged,, so i really couldnt answer that question for you on any differences but as for the second part.. it works just fine with browsers and IM's active.. like all bittorrent's they suck down system resources,, it will slow you down to a certain level,, but it really does speed things up. ive had bt engine running,, 3 torrents,, 5 tabs open in firefox and playing games with a friend in msn messenger and carry on a conversation in skype all at the same time,,, and i was able to still carry on with every thing just fine,, but i wont lie some times it is hard.. but like i said using bt engine may slow your system down,, but it speeds things up a good deal and for me its better to get the dl done and over as soon as possible..

well it is getting very close to look like firefox but i doubt it will ever be the same,, but it will have strong resemblences
