Every line appears to be doubled spaced. Hitting 'Enter' twice seems to give you 3 blank lines between lines with text on. This really seems to spread out the post unecessarly. Text under user name is single spaced. Browser is Opera.

It isn't shown either way. The issue is it can't be enabled!

Under the 'Options/General/Folders' entry for the 'Temporary folder', I want to change that buried location to the root of 'C'. Do I just change it to "Temp" removing everything before that line, or should it be "C:/Temp"? Reason being, I access that folder all the time since that is usually where unpacked '.exe' programs and drivers wind up durning an install process. I will save those files in the orginal uninstalled folder for that program or driver so as to save time when I use that program or driver next time. IOW's, I don't have to go through the unpacking process every time.

These 'tweaks' don't appear to 'stick'. Unattended/Display/Screen Resolution. I have tried 1024x768 and 1280x1024, but the O/S still installs at 640x480. This is not choosing 'Yes' in the 'Setup look' under the 'Options/General' page. I believe if I choose 'Yes' it will stick to 1024x768. Tweaks/General/Desktop/Start Menu. Checking 'Add Admin Tools menu' won't stick. As soon as you go into 'Customize Start Menu' it is unchecked. Same goes for 'Use small icons in Start Panel'. Wish list; For the Recycle Bin; the ability to remove 'Delete confirmation dialog'. Under Options/General/Setup look; another choice instead of 'black'. '0' black is a bad choice since one can't tell if the video card has been enabled when the screen is normally blank. A very low level grey (30 30 30) just enough to tell you have good video untill a active screen appears.

Langage Bar; If you check to remove, apparently it disables the Quick Lanch. Anyone confirm this?

Don't know, I haven't been back there yet. I haven't enabled RAID. -
Integration of NVIDIA's nForce RAID and AHCI drivers
videobruce replied to Fernando 1's topic in nLite
Is this necessary if you are not using a RAID array? I have two SATA HDD's, both with 2 partitions and both with a O/S on the first partition of each drive. -
I glanced through the thread regarding pre-adding nForce 570 drivers to a nLite installation, but it just seems to apply to using the drives in RAID setups which I don't. I been having bootup delay problems and now quirky things happening when I was re-installing the O/S. My situation is this: 1. Non RAID use, 2. Two SATA drives, 3. Both drives have the first partition active (and bootable) with a O/S installed, 4. Both drives have a 2nd extended partition (not active), 5. Same O/S is on both drives (done purposely so I can boot to the other drive if the 1st drive has a problem without using a DOS utility or a bootable CD). 6. Drive boot order is changed within the Bios (latest version), 7. MB is a Foxconn N570SM2AA, 8. XP Pro w/sp2 nLite install (with little deleted). Problem is; Corruption of possibly the MBR and/or both O/S's due to dual O/S's installed. Drive letters get changed, an additional 20+ seconds delay is added to the "Windows is starting up" portion of the boot when both drives are connected. If I remove one or the other drive, there is no problem. I just went to wipe, reformat and re-load the O/S on the 2nd drive. Before I procedded I found the 2nd partition was labled as the 1st partition © and it showed active when it was not (no O/S ever loaded). The drive labels that were named within Windows did follow the partition number though. Instead of; C: Partition 1, Backup 1 (active) D: Partition 2, Archive 1 It was; C: Partition 2, Archive 1 (active) (someother drive letter): Partition 1, Backup1 Hopefully that made some sense. So, do I need to add these drivers before the O/S install? Input please.

I didn't know or understand there was a registry available before the install.

X-FoRcE; Thanks for the links. I already saw the first, but the problem is still there since I already have sp4. The 2nd link has to do w/ XP, this is 2k where the problem is. As far as sp5, I had problems with that and as recomended elsewhere, I dropped trying to use it. 5eraph; I tried to load 2k into the 1st partition that was created w/ XP, but it corrupted the whole drive. After the format it showed FOUR partitions of weird sizes when there were only two. I had to wipe the drive which is where I'm at now.

I have a 2k Pro w/sp4 and a XP Pro w/sp2 install discs that were made using nLite. The 2k version reports durning setup 131GB and the XP version reports 305 GB with a 320GB SATA HDD. This is on a nForce 570 MB. What's up?

"Pinball"; any issue with removing this regarding having net
videobruce replied to videobruce's topic in nLite
I guess he meant the game since that was the only "Pinball" that was listed. I posted the list of what I removed and 'Pinball' was there. I questioned this and waiting for a reply. -
I was just told that 'pinball' is required for user authentication to network shares. Anyone else have any input on this?

Regarding settings on the Unattended page; 1. Under the User tab/Options box/Active checkbox, what is this for? 2. Under the User tab/Password box/Blank password checkbox, if this is checked will the system boot without the login page (using the classic version) and you will have the ability to add a password later?

I have a issue with Outlook Express and the 'Idenities' issue which seems very pouplar, or should I say unpopular. I get an error message "Unable to create internet account manager". There is a issue with the register key for "Idenities" being corupted. Where could this be using nLite? I tried this on two different boxes and the same problem (using the same nite XP w/sp2). BTW; I have Messenger 'disabled', but not removed (AFAIK).

I wish I read that a month ago. Can I assume this is with that unofficial SP5 and 2k? BTW; you do need that M$ bus driver 'fix' before you install those drivers with 2k & XP
-
I can assure you if I have no intention of using that other site, I sure as hell would never use M$ site for anything. That is the absolutely last place I would go other than to hell or to have dinner with Bush & Cheney.
-
I would think twice about ANY site looking through my system................
-
Sounds as an advantage to me. 2k surely looks better than FP..................

I know this is a old thread, but happens to be my problem. I never used OE before and for a troubleshooting reason ( someones elses e-mail account), I was instructed to setup OE. I got this error when I tried to run the program from the start menu. The difference here is I have no "Account ID" within that folder with that overly very long number. I do have three other entries; (Default) Identity Ordinal Username Now what?

I think adding a "Apply" button at the bottom of each page might help these issues where changes do not appear to 'stick'.
-
Yes, I see that now. It was I just thought it was another 'weird' deal with nLite and/or I checked or unchecked something.

IOWs' just too complicated.
