I have already seen this problem on a pc with WMP ... process grow up to 100% cpu usage , or big memory usage ... finally music freeze or stutt ... Wrong. You can use standard OEM windows xp home sp2 to repair existing windows. Setup will ask your cdkey and the key present on the sticker will work but need activation by phone. You can use 'optimize' function of UltraISO or CDGuiImage to allow burn once identicals files. Mine CD is about 500mb but full source is 2,5gb.

In fact in WinXP pro, keep Simple file sharing option. and Share a first folder, windows will ask you if you want to use guest sharing. Accept it and no problems. I have noticed sometimes windows has corrupts security database/or settings (I don't know, but even with good settings shares don't work), to fix it, we must restore the database with secedit. When OemPnPDriversPath is set, the F6 function doesn't work, in fact loading drivers in txtsetup part is okay, but in GUI part it say "not found" because setup search in defined path, this is my opinion. I havn't find (and search too ^^) some solutions for me, I use regular install in that case. For U, you can integrate your sata drivers and problem will be solved. Search in Device Drivers / BashratPack sections. Goodbye.

Other way: You can decompress the .exe by microsoft to a DirectX9 folder for example, and use DXSETUP.EXE /silent inside the DirectX9. This allow to bypass the first decompression and speedup install.
