  1. Have you tested the netstat command ? You havn't posted the result.
  2. I use Robocopy from admin pack of win2k3 http://www.ss64.com/nt/robocopy.html
  3. If you are sure your data is copied/saved/moved completely, you can unplug directly your key without any problem (wait 5s after copy operation for example). The eject function scan handles on the usb key and if are present it says close all programs, if empty it just says you can remove your key (and disconnect from device manager to disable the key). When the usb key is new, we try to use Eject function but after many uses you unplug & replug directly ...I do that with mine and I havn't any corrupt data.
  4. Posting oembios file are okay, isn't it ? A small package will be interesting ...

  12. - Windows Media key: I think it's for identify the PC for transfer music/data to portable devices like MP3 players, IMHO you can re-set the value to the current name to avoid bugs. - ShellNoRoam key: You can delete ShellNoRoam key, it's for caching data ... it will be regenerated alll the time ... BTW, if you don't change these keys, there arn't any problems with network.

  16. On your current system ? or for future installation ?
  17. Is your CD is nLited ? I assume you have XP Pro because "Local users and groups" isn't available on Home Edition.

  21. It's seems to be the same problem as an another topic, try the solution found http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showtopic=75217
  22. It's the same. REG is the win32 console application allow more than IMPORT function, you can edit directly values of your regkey. Regedit32 is the win32 gui editor which accepts .reg on the command line, that's all. edit: There is an advantage to use "regedit /s Regfile.reg" : Compatibility with older Windows.
  23. Just for info, this question appears because Guest account is disabled.
  24. It's host problem, unshare all folders, disable simple file sharing, reboot, re-enable simple file sharing, and re-share folders, windows will ask you confirmation to activate simple sharing.
