  1. ... and - since day one two - anyone installing Windows 9x often would install DOS, copy the CD to a folder (if I remember correctly, but I could be wrong, without spaces in the name) and install from there. Some reference: http://smallvoid.com/article/win9x-source-path-install.html http://win.tweaklibrary.com/System/Application-Path/71/Change-default-location-of-source-files-for-Windows-setup/10484/ of course one can - post install - copy anyway the files to the directory on hard disk and modify the Registry so that if an additional file is needed there is no need for the CD ROM. jaclaz

  3. It's my pleasure! Thanks, I have added this information to the list. Awesome! Done. In other news, now that we're in August, this marks the final month that Firefox 52 ESR will receive security updates, thus the absolute final version of Mozilla Firefox for Windows Vista (and XP) will be released this month. I'm not sure the exact date that this will end, but I'd recommend Vista/XP users still on Firefox switch over to one of Roytam1's browsers, as to my knowledge these will be the only options left that continue to be updated on these operating systems after August 2018. Also, SeaMonkey 2.49.4 was released on July 27, and I'd say it's safe to assume that this will be the final version for Windows Vista since Firefox 52 ESR support ends this month. I won't list it just yet but if you use SeaMonkey on Vista, I would expect this version to be the last...

  4. @Tripredacus For Backup/Restore and also install new MBR to hard disks you may use BootIce, there is a 32 and a 64 bits version. Totally portable (runs on WinPE x86 and x64). Also can be used in Commandline.

  5. Never tried it (as I am 32 bit only) but dd for Windows has a 64 bit release: http://www.chrysocome.net/download http://www.chrysocome.net/downloads/ddrelease64.exe jaclaz

  6. Seems OK from here with the late July cumulative catalog update in... Notably dwm.exe popped-open a debug-like window upon first logon after the update, implying dwmcore symbols had to be downloaded... -Noel

  7. There was a new cumulative update for me from Build 17134.112 to 17134.137. 1) A new folder in 'C:\AeroGlass\symbols\dwmcore.pdb' needs to be created named as follows: D1149747277D9F7BA3C1C34E145203531 2) A new 'dwmcore.pdb' needs to be downloaded from the following link: http://msdl.microsoft.com/download/symbols/dwmcore.pdb/D1149747277D9F7BA3C1C34E145203531/dwmcore.pdb 3) The downloaded .BLOB file needs to be renamed 'dwmcore.pdb' and copied to the folder created in the first step. 4) Click the 'retry' button in the 'incompatibility' popup window and it should work.
