As part of my work on ytBATCH, I have investigated many ffmpeg releases that are supposed to be compatible with Windows XP. These include, for example, the releases from @Reino, sherpya and @autodidact. The relatively new ones from @Reino and @autodidact work well with YouTube. But when it comes to TV streams, it's a completely different story. Their latest ones in particular have considerable problems with TV stream URLs. On my old Windows XP computer, negative performance changes are immediately apparent. FFmpeg 3.4.1 from 2017 is too old and can no longer access TV stream addresses. The newer releases 7.1 from 2024 and 8.1 from 2025 require much more CPU power than before. They are therefore problematic for older, weak Windows XP computers. That's why I still have been using ffmpeg releases from 2019 for TV stream addresses.3 points

I examined the crash dump files which were created for the PSANHost.exe process after crashing. The crashes also seem to be related to the module psanrknl.exe. And they occur precisely every 60 to 65 minutes, so to say absolutely periodically. Maybe, a time bomb inside the setup file which will be activated when the version has become too old? The Panda Antivirus 21.01.00 setup file is already more than three years old. And if this theory turns out to be true, I'll be really furious and have to reconsider my opinion of Panda.2 points

You made/forwarded/cited this so-called claim. The burden is on you to prove it. Citing two people arguing in Russian is no proof of anything. If you can't prove it, it doesn't exist. But technically, I AGREE WITH YOU. No skin off my back either way. Supermium couldn't log into my bank. But yeah, I did try, and yeah, I *immediately* changed my bank password after the failed login attempt. Supermium (and all Chrome forks above version 79 [December 2019]) have password data breach "protection". Personally, if you "trust these", you only INVITE man-in-the-middle and you VOLUNTEERED for your password hash to be TRANSMITTED !!! You REQUESTED it be analyzed via THIRD-PARTY to see if it exists in the wild. You ASKED for that when you opted in for the "protection". This is no different than VOLUNTEERING your local files to be SUBMITTED to antivirus firms if you allow them to be scanned by antivirus software. Technically, I AGREE WITH YOU, there *ARE* settings in Supermium (and all Chrome versions since 2019 !!!) that transmit data that I **OPT OUT OF**. But for the enduser that does "trust" the 'service', I leave that up to them to decide on their own, I would suggest they disable these "settings". But there will be just as many that claim they are "safer" having some embedded Chrome "service" acting as their "nanny" to protect themselves from themself.2 points

Forget about the Panda support! I reported the issue twice. The second report was quite detailed. No response so far. Not even an acknowledgement of receipt or the opening of a support ticket. Very disappointing! Although Panda Antivirus Free 21.01.00 is running on Windows XP better than the latest version, even this version seems to have problems. And once again, the culprit is the process PSANHost.exe which yesterday suddenly started to crash from time to time for whatever reason. I'm currently trying to determine the reason for these crashes. This PSANHost.exe is slowly getting on my nerves. Either I solve the problem or Panda Antivirus will be completely removed from my system. The Panda support seems to be non-existent.2 points

I would gladly help you and the others , but I don't see any connections like these in my version , that I made from scratch . Where did you see I said so ? I meant, it's no wonder that something that came from russians connects to KGB servers . I'm trying to be helpful and friendly , but it just seems so strange why would you not entirely believe the others (at least two) members from France , who are reporting weird traffic and Yandex connections . Perhaps it's checking which country they are in and connects accordingly ! I think it's no coinsidence that both of them are from France !!! Again , it's just seems to me , due to some of your replies ,where you kinda bothered by any of the members saying something which is not in favour of the russians and it seems to be kinda overprotective . Just sayin' , No offence.2 points

Hello , actually no wonders ! Could you tell whose version is this ? From which member ?2 points

Ever tried GTX780 ( Ti version ) ? Well , you should ! It will outperform your 20 oldies in terms of heating up a 25 square meters room in a matter of several minutes ! Or try GTX Titan Black . I was going to buy it , but I just coudn't sit near it for more than 30 minutes and decided to stay with my first Titan (not black). Also , they all sound like a turbojet , I think you may like it even more . Build quality is very good ! Not like the modern days junk . Just buy original Nvidia reference version from 2013 , not from "partners" like Zotacs , Palit , Asus or EVGA. Besides , they already are ancient too . I know you can find drivers for Win2000. Perhaps someone modded Win98 drivers too.2 points

Short story : just like the topic says . Longer story : I'm a sucker for great audio and video ! No wonder it was my job since the early 1990s. I have an audiophile sound card (several , actually) . On a clean Vista (with any official SP) the sound quality is fantastic ! Also, the video quality is full RGB and with rich and vibrant colours , but as soon as I install almost any update after the platform update , it becomes terrible , muddy , muffled , sandy sounding . Like it's having an obstacle (a pillow) , for example. Have you ever encountered something similar ?2 points

Everyone , thank you for the help ! I was able to update through the manual method , but not with this tool . Even though I've managed to configure the proxy usage for it , the requests were just blocked ! The only way to obtain them was through a well known download manager programme with a UK IP. And @Dave-H , of course that's not for me to decide , but perhaps you need to edit the post and remove weird text like the word "loud" , I'm not sure what he meant by that. I think it could be shorter , overall , like straight to the point . Too many sentences at the top. And the most important part , please add that the roots update needs to be run as admin , otherwise it won't work on Vista . ".. entry in the string VERSION should be (missed be) "5,0,2195,0" loud (what is loud?) and in VER "005.." Perhaps relace should with must. And this : "...no correct solution for the update of the Roots certificates and revoked certificates found" , but it is found already . Misleading , outdated info.2 points

Seeking suggestions to improve video streaming experience. 1) ability to save presets specific to Computer A's speakers, Computer B's speakers, and Computer C's speakers 2) ability to prevent things like action movie LOUD scenes from being TOO LOUD 3) should work on multiple web sites (ie, not YouTube-only types of extensions) My current config uses two extensions that work decent for the most part. But one of the two extensions (Audio Compressor) has a tendency to LOCK UP (video freezes and/or stutters) and needs disabled/re-enabled quite frequently. Re-enabling also requires the streaming video web site to be reloaded. Currently using Audio Compressor version 0.1.28 in conjunction with Ears Audio Toolkit version 1.3.12. https://chromewebstore.google.com/detail/audio-compressor/daomidlfpcfjchpalpjogmnhabkekbnn?hl=en https://chromewebstore.google.com/detail/Ears: Bass Boost%2C EQ Any Audio!/nfdfiepdkbnoanddpianalelglmfooik1 point

By that time they will bump up the minimum version, you'll wait in vain. Supermium lags behind for at least several versions.1 point

i think, it is just stupid typo in code: they want "eat less cpu time if user is active", but get reversed.1 point

Ok, as I made all enhancements to the driver which I planned (and some checks of NT version of this driver too) now I have time to test some very strange info that @Omores was the first to discover: On some CSMs Int 13h for NVMe does not work only for Extended version of this service (Functions 4xh Read/Write) and works for Standard (Legacy) under [Protected] Virtual 8086 Mode. I literally could not believe in this stupidity but after my own test on above mentioned system I can say that this is TRUE. What does it mean? You can boot from non LBA (old DOS) FAT versions of MBR partition (0Bh for FAT32, 06h for FAT16) exactly as Omores did. To fast check that your system has this bug/workaround just run: http://sweetlow.orgfree.com/download/hdsize.zip (if you will get error under Chrome try to copy/past this address into browser address line directly for the second time) HDSIZE.EXE /R1 and HDSIZE.EXE /E /R1 under DOS+EMM386 if you can boot from some other (non NVMe) drive. If you will get error (9 with high probability) or this: "Read 1 Sectors @ 0 LBA... Success, but these sectors are untouched: 0" message on some (NVMe) drive for the first command and no errror for the second then you have exactly such problem.1 point

You're absolutely right! Talking and philosophizing about a problem you haven't got in your own system is contraproductive. So I produced the problem you all had got and could analyze what was going on. The best way someone can have. Btw I installed ProxHTTPSProxy 3e (you can remember!) for testing purpose and it is working perfectly.1 point

I already knew the alternative way to import certificates using IE but I want to do it in a clear safe way. It was a really long odyssey to find a final solution. I hope it'll work for all of us. Btw I provided links to Windows Update Reset Tool (Script). Have you already looked into? I think it is an interesting tool if problems due to MU occur.1 point

They all are somewhat para-gov. now , the lines are vanished . Like in the case with vaxxines . Did you know , for example, CDC is a private company , yet the most think it's gov. ? The same with FBIbook , it's so powerful , it's like another gov. structure . So even though I liked your comment , I do not agree with you overall . No operator needs your private data . You forgot the times when SIM cards were at every train station without the need for the data from the person ? As for the gov., why do they need our data ? I mean, the taxes are in the goods already , every time you buy them , you pay your gov. , that should be it ! BTW , the war tax is still on , which is illegal .1 point
