  2. That's why I decided to make diffs again. 😐 I will apply the custom changes only to the "Vista" variant offered here. It will work on higher versions of Windows as well, so @Reino can test it. Updated yt-dlp_Py3.13.7_x86_Vista.

  3. I have plenty of Laptops and Thin-clients. Majority of the more powerful older systems (circa 2005-2012) have internal MPCI-E. So, it seems I can buy MPCI-E (male) to 2x legacy PCI (female); but it has no case and is powered by sata power (meant to be use in a desktop). Most external sata powers supplies are DC adapter/USB to Sata power cable. They typically provide 2A, which isn't enough (a fair PCI GPU will use 7A, for sure). I have a MICRO PC case, and could run it (MPCI-E to PCI) off the power in there, potentially mounting the 2 PCI slots inside it. Before playing with any of that, I thought I should ask if anyone has seen something that comes with it's own case/power? The bare adapter runs about $40 US. I wouldn't want to pay a whole lot more, than that. I've seen PCMCIA (male) to 2x and 4x PCI (female); but they are rare and costly. However, they came with nice cases and power supplies. My MICRO PC case has a fanless PSU, so it may be the best choice for me (noise is important here). But, if there ever was a place to ask advice, this is the place. Notice:This may not be a solution, for adding PCI cards to "late era" Win9x machines. For that, the PCMCIA route is likely more certain.

  5. I had come across another issue related to Dual Monitors / DWM Lag on W7 : https://www.sevenforums.com/general-discussion/414954-dwm-exe-aero-desktop-composition-lag-has-anyone-figured-out.html Maybe this can help with your problem as well : Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\DWM\Schedule] "FrameRateMin"=dword:00000078 [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Avalon.Graphics] "Force10Level9"=dword:00000001 For FrameRateMin... 0000003c = 60, if you run your monitors at 60hz. 00000078 = 120, if you run at 120hz. 00000090 = 144, if you run at 144hz.

  6. Well depending your electrical skills and willing to take risks there is possible workaround. I looked around pictures of adapters you are talking about and found this https://i5.walmartimages.com/asr/674e1280-d726-40e2-983c-e2fc3c8d7b2e.4111bb435392e18d6a8bf929c2f760a2.jpeg Now when comparing to pinout of sata power connector https://pinoutguide.com/Power/sata-power_pinout.shtml it seems that adapter lacks orange wire which is used usually for 3.3v. So that is only 12v and 5v connector. So in theory atleast all you have to do is desolder connectors off the PCB and attach wire directly or via plug if prefer to it have it removable. You either need desk power supply with both 12 and 5v rails or two desk power supplies with 12v and 5v. You can find those for reasonably price in stores, I cant say for US as I live in arctic circle but some DIY stores atleast and they are usually sold as universal replacement for dc adapters of appliances. I would verify voltages using multimeter and if you do not feel comfortable with soldering iron let someone else do it for you. If you cant find exact part you need you usually need do one yourself from almost fit part

  7. Thank you @Reino, I was searching the upstream issue tracker as you posted your comment, thus I found it is because of: https://github.com/yt-dlp/yt-dlp/issues/14456 Google, as I have written already, are really satanic , their war against downloaders probably now conducted via AI (their own Gemini e.a) and this has been insinuated also elsewhere... A new upstream release has just been made, https://github.com/yt-dlp/yt-dlp/releases/tag/2025.09.26 to tackle the new blockade: What this actually boils down to is even less choice of formats for the end yt-dlp user ; as I have posted, some posts above, "web_safari" yt-client only affords avc1 (h264) video streams (and aac audio ones) ... yt-dlp -vF "BdGH9jgSjkU" [debug] Command-line config: 12. I'm sorry if you felt my post was directed to you. It wasn't. I'm not using your binaries either. I'm on Win11, so I'm using the original ones anyway. I won't be asking this from you. I was just explaning my preference for the m3u8 HLS streams, plus I was wondering if more people experienced the bandwidth "issues" with DASH streams and if maybe something could be done to it. Btw, I know very well what you're dealing with, because with FFmpeg for WinXP I dealt with maintaining quite a number of patches to keep it all WinXP and non-SSE2 compatible. That's great! Thanks for letting us know.

  13. ... I'm sorry I have to say this , but once the hack currently implemented by upstream stops working (and it will stop ), for XP/Vista[/Win7] users, for which the scheduled workaround, deno, isn't compatible, "Apple-device" (iOS+web_safari) type of YouTube (HLS) streams will be the ONLY accessible options, at least until Google restricts them further with a POT implementation; the log below was generated with yesterday's Vista build of yours , it provides a glimpse of how things would look when "the hack" has been broken and the deno-enabling PR merged: yt-dlp_x86 --extractor-args "youtube:player_client=ios,web_safari" -vF "O5TS2CbBhKo" [debug] Command-line config: ['--extractor-args', 'youtube:player_client=ios,web_safari', '-vF', 'O5TS2CbBhKo'] [debug] Encodings: locale cp1253, fs utf-8, pref cp1253, out utf-8 (No VT), error utf-8 (No VT), screen utf-8 (No VT) [debug] yt-dlp version local@2025.09.25 [4429fd045] (win_x86_exe) [debug] Python 3.11.9 (CPython x86 32bit) - Windows-Vista-6.0.6003-SP2 (OpenSSL 3.5.2 5 Aug 2025) [debug] exe versions: none [debug] Optional libraries: Cryptodome-3.23.0, brotli-1.1.0, certifi-2025.08.03, mutagen-1.47.0, requests-2.32.5, sqlite3-3.45.1, urllib3-2.5.0, websockets-15.0.1 [debug] Proxy map: {} [debug] Request Handlers: urllib, requests, websockets [debug] Plugin directories: none [debug] Loaded 1833 extractors [debug] [youtube] [pot] PO Token Providers: none [debug] [youtube] [pot] PO Token Cache Providers: memory [debug] [youtube] [pot] PO Token Cache Spec Providers: webpo [youtube] Extracting URL: O5TS2CbBhKo [youtube] O5TS2CbBhKo: Downloading webpage [debug] [youtube] Forcing "main" player JS variant for player 0004de42 original url = /s/player/a61444a1/player_ias.vflset/en_US/base.js [youtube] O5TS2CbBhKo: Downloading ios player API JSON [youtube] O5TS2CbBhKo: Downloading web safari player API JSON [debug] [youtube] O5TS2CbBhKo: ios client https formats require a GVS PO Token which was not provided. Best wishes!

  14. I just realised that if I build the Win 7 versions with adang1345's Python, they should also work on Vista (?). From the README:

  15. Hey everyone, I’m trying to debug the disk.sys from Windows Vista on XP/2000. I’m not good in driver debugging, and even in XP though all the functions seem to exist, the driver doesn’t work. Maybe someone can understand what’s going wrong or point me in the right direction. windbg log : https://pastebin.com/zaKXc3ZM
