@DrWho3000 I have abandoned Thorium months ago due to the lack of updates. At that time, I used a ThoriumLoader.exe and a ThoriumLoader.ini file customised by implementing the Thorium Icon Set. If interested, I can upload both files for further use. I do not have any use for it anymore. You still have to adapt the ThoriumLoader.ini file to your needs, of course.2 points

Announcement Due to the fact that @feodor2 has been working for months to ensure that the Custom Buttons extension runs smoothly, so as soon as the new version of Mypal is available, I will publish my custom button PMT - Process Mode Toggler. This custom button, now in version 7.0, allows the user to toggle between single-process and multi-process mode in Mypal with one click and appropriate, pre-selectable settings. The toolbar icon and the toolbar tip always show the current status. Since version 3.0, the PMT custom button comes with a Compatibility Service inside the script which, if activated, checks, whether the browser used is compatible with this custom button or not, and gives advices what to do to ensure that it is working there as designed. The PMT - Process Mode Toggler custom button is in any case compatible with all versions of Mypal 68 and Mypal 74 released until now.1 point

Alternatively, you can follow his instructions for patching here: https://github.com/Feodor2/Mypal68/issues/426#issuecomment-3172415836 Now, the list of all installed custom buttons appears again.1 point

ps - if you want to try something one step further and upon your next install, launch the IE6 **BEFORE** your network driver/connectivity, then axe IE6. I personally axe IE by way of the below as a run-as-admin bat-file. Basically, the exe is replaced with a folder of the same name and the exe has its name changed. Windows does not allow a folder and file to be the same exact name. I **KEEP** IE as the OS "default browser" but my IE *cannot* launch. Nothing INTRODUCES security holes in an OS more than having a "default browser"! Unsure why SP2 requires IE6 to be launched but this is not a requirement in SP3 (my SP3's require no IE launch in order for 360Chrome to work). ; takeown /f "c:\program files\internet explorer" /r /d y ; takeown /f "c:\program files (x86)\internet explorer" /r /d y echo y| cacls "c:\program files (x86)\internet explorer\iexplore.exe" /P everyone:f @echo off C: cd "\Program Files (x86)\Internet Explorer" if not exist IEXPLORE.EXE goto End if exist IEXPLORE.EX_ del IEXPLORE.EX_ if not exist IEXPLORE.DIR md IEXPLORE.DIR if not exist IEXPLORE.DIR goto End attrib -r -h -s IEXPLORE.EXE ren IEXPLORE.EXE IEXPLORE.EX_ if exist IEXPLORE.EXE goto End ren IEXPLORE.DIR IEXPLORE.EXE echo IE disabled. echo If prompted, click "Cancel" then "Yes" on File Protection restore. echo Run enable-ie.bat to allow IE to run again. :End echo y| cacls "c:\program files\internet explorer\iexplore.exe" /P everyone:f @echo off C: cd "\Program Files\Internet Explorer" if not exist IEXPLORE.EXE goto End if exist IEXPLORE.EX_ del IEXPLORE.EX_ if not exist IEXPLORE.DIR md IEXPLORE.DIR if not exist IEXPLORE.DIR goto End attrib -r -h -s IEXPLORE.EXE ren IEXPLORE.EXE IEXPLORE.EX_ if exist IEXPLORE.EXE goto End ren IEXPLORE.DIR IEXPLORE.EXE echo IE disabled. echo If prompted, click "Cancel" then "Yes" on File Protection restore. echo Run enable-ie.bat to allow IE to run again. :End1 point

Agreed. Something with the OS-Level "certificate chain" is not fully installed until after IE6 is launched. No risk, in my opinion. I personally trust the 10sec launch to link that chain together over and above any other certificate-repair/update out there. I personally *avoid* interfering with that linkage via "third-party" cert-interference.1 point

The quality drops with this method. The original VP9 of H265 downgraded to H264 with same size, and H264 simply can't hold that amount of pixels at the same size. Not good. BTW, they started to serve H266, at least I got them from my London IP.1 point

Direct X11, I wouldn't even try it with Supermium, try to force DX9 via earlier mentioned flags.1 point

Disregard! That was short-lived! Videos are consistently stopping about three and half minutes in then the infamous swirling circle indicating buffering rears its ugly head! One to two hours! You've never been satisfied with anything for so long. I think that's a new record. Install the TURBOLAUNCHER 2.1.0.0 script (a launcher script for VORAPIS) instead of the Project VORAPIS 0.9.0.0 script itself! Works fine in New Moon 28 on my old machine. No interruptions of the stream, and no swirling circle here.1 point

You are running the New Moon 28 SSE release. I assume your CPU does not have the SSE2 instruction set and is a very old one like mine although my Pentium 4 CPU is equipped with the SSE2 instruction set. The website https://www.auf1.tv can be accessed with New Moon 28 (palemoon-28.10.7a1.win32-git-20250222-d849524bd-uxp-e43876ec84-xpmod.7z) but on old, weak computers, it's more of a pain than a pleasure. You should avoid this website, at least on old devices. The page is overloaded with media, loads terribly slowly and uses around 200 MB of RAM. The CPU load is high due to all animations and transitions. I can block them via CSS, and the CPU load immediately becomes normal. But then the news ticker is no longer running, of course. I think such websites should be accessed on modern devices, and the reason for your issue is most probably the lack of the SSE2 instruction set in your CPU which might be necessary to correctly load this website.1 point

Finally, someone posted as issue. Supermium is 30% brighter than the usual chrome, look at the first screenshot. @NotHereToPlayGames, I don't know what you were measuring with that RGB software, it's seen to the naked eye. https://github.com/win32ss/supermium/issues/6271 point

On second thought, might as well go Vista, even less space will be wasted on the HDD.1 point

... And his "Notice" writes: https://github.com/abbodi1406/vcredist#windows-vista-notice ... And he's actually right; the last standalone file "VC_redist.x86.exe" provided by MS that will install out-of-the-box on Vista SP2 32-bit is of version 14.31.30919.0: https://download.visualstudio.microsoft.com/download/pr/8c1c2dbb-0856-4dc3-b863-b16c637bc245/E55681B9E07A58F7143E5AB5941F45DE0B485E0C9933B0CB6B702D3921F48527/VC_redist.x86.exe Subsequent versions 14.31.31005.0, 14.31.31103.0, 14.32.31302.0, 14.32.31326.0 and 14.32.31332.0 had their installers blocked from launching under Vista SP2, but their "payload"/content (various DLLs) continued to remain Vista-compatible ; next version 14.34.31823.3 had several of its DLLs contain Win7+ function calls ... So, the last of abbodi1406's vcredist AIO custom pack with full/proper Vista SP2 support is v0.6.1 (2022-06-21): https://github.com/abbodi1406/vcredist/releases/download/v0.61.0/VisualCppRedist_AIO_x86_x64_61.zip What point would there be in doing so ? Its VS2022 DLLs are incompatible with Vista and, if force-installed, would fully break all apps requiring the VS2015-2022 runtime ...1 point
