Indeed so, but if an 'experimental' feature is actually breaking sites, I do hope that gets addressed!2 points

You're confused. @Monolithik actually suggested to turn it OFF, whereas @VistaLover suggested to keep it ON.2 points

I have, but old. I can't install a higher version on my 8.1 notebook. With version 110 it shows an improperly formatted basic HTML page. https://www.britishgas.co.uk/identity/ Not true.2 points

Don't know, you properly the first one ever getting this error message. Make sure you not running out of free disk space. You need at least the size of \Windows\System32\config\SOFTWARE.1 point

It doesn't, right, but the question was rather making the accent on whether "normal" Chromes are affected overall.1 point

Oh, so now you say it! You advised to keep them turned on all over MSFN! I listened to you. And I was wondering why many sites have malfunctioned for me! Now I got them back at default, all works fine immediately. Special thanks to @Dave-H for digging down to the bottom of the problem and @D.Draker for busting down such "advisers"!1 point

Does it show up at all in My Computer when you connect it and allow photo transfer on the phone's screen or this error pops up when you initiate the transfer? I was able to test on an older iPhone (not 15pro) but updated to IOS 18 and Windows Vista and photo transfer worked there without any iTunes.1 point

Alright! I must have mixed it up. Sorry for that! BTW, my other Windows XP computer is equipped exactly with this CPU on an ASUS A7N8X-E Deluxe motherboard. And it's still alive.1 point

Why do I report here in terms of my ytBatch for Windows XP mod? I have decided to make my mod available for all users. Since YouTube Downloaders compatible with Windows XP are rather rare and ytBatch is simply great, everyone should be able to download YouTube video or audio files in Windows XP. Especially when such great releases are made available by @nicolaasjan. Everything can be set in ytBatch for a very individualised media download. And ytBatch is very light in consuming resources and very fast. When my test phase is finished, I will publish ytBatch for Windows XP here in this thread. Greetings from Germany, AstroSkipper1 point

Thanks again everyone. I reported the problem on GitHub, as you've seen, and I'm still trying to get my head around the response from Vangelis66 there! Whatever the ramifications are from changing the default status of that flag, surely the fundamental problem is that something when enabled by that flag is causing the British Gas site to break. Whatever it is, I hope it's addressed as if one site breaks, surely others will as well.1 point

FYI, an update check of @Reino's ffmpeg SSE release is not necessary in ytBatch since his ffmpeg 7.1-2362 SSE release is the very last one. Unfortunately, his old Pentium 3 SSE AMD Athlon XP 3200+ computer has died which prompted him to stop creating new releases. This can be read here: https://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?p=2014523#post2014523 Therefore, my ytBatch for Windows XP mod downloads this last ffmpeg 7.1-2362 SSE release if it does not exist, and that was it. All that means ytBatch for Windows XP only looks for updates in terms of itself and @nicolaasjan's yt-dlp/youtube-dl releases if triggered by the user. However, an update of ytBatch for Windows XP itself should only be done manually otherwise my modifications will be overwritten mercilessly.1 point

Okay, that was more than "two words". But come on, you cannot fully answer your question in "two words". Oh, wait, I CAN answer in TWO WORDS == SUPERMIUM ONLY.1 point

Supermium author changed the naming of an internal flag and also changed its default state. This is only in Supermium v126 R6 and higher. So all Supermium versions beginning with v126 R6 behave *DIFFERENTLY* than all other v126 and higher for *ALL OTHER* Chrome/Chromium forks. This causes *great confusion* for anybody UPGRADING and keeping a profile from R5 or older. Especially if that profile sets/unsets this flag. The UPGRADED profile now has this flag doing the OPPOSITE of why the user set/unset it in the first place. Most importantly - this is Supermium Only. Users that set flags now have to comb through all of their flags to see if the Supermium Author now has it doing the OPPOSITE of all other Chrome/Chromium Forks "on the planet". Unless, of course, those forks don't fork from upstream but fork from Supermium directly (I have not checked nor tried any forks of Supermium, if they do exist).1 point

I removed in all batch files the PowerShell commands for downloading and extracting the yt-dlp, youtube-dl and ffmpeg archive files. As a replacement, I added wget.exe for downloading your releases respectively @Reino's release and 7z.exe for extracting the downloaded archive files. Then, I rewrote the corresponding code in different batch files. Now, all batch files for updating work again under Windows XP. The yt-dlp, youtube-dl and ffmpeg archive files are downloaded, extracted and then removed including all unwanted files. So, your yt-dlp can be checked by the -U option at any time. After checking for updates, I added an option to decide whether an update of the yt-dlp file or the youtube-dl file should be carried out or not. Now, everything is running the way I wanted it to. Project finished.1 point

Thanks. Does anyone have the 'normal' Google Chrome browser installed? I don't have it installed now, and I would be interested to know if it has the same problem. I will feed this back to the developer on GitHub, because something is obviously amiss here, certainly with Supermium, especially as I gather that the preview 132 version has the same issue.1 point

I also used the Open With extension in the past. It is indeed a nice extension. ytBATCH is not only one batch file but a couple of batch files. I changed the code of some batch files to avoid PowerShell commands which do not work under Windows XP. Now, ytBATCH is able to download the most recent versions of @nicolaasjan's yt-dlp and youtube-dl releases, and @Reino's last ffmpeg release, by itself. And here ytBatch's Preferences: And this is the main window where a command or the YouTube link has to be entered: This script collection is cool.1 point

On GitHub, I found a nice Batch Script for downloading Audio and Video using yt-dlp or youtube-dl and ffmpeg. It is called ytBATCH. I have already configured it to my needs, and it works great under Windows XP. Whatever yt-dlp option is needed can be easily added to a config file. All preferences which have been set inside ytBatch are stored in config files. Once, all has been adjusted, you only need to insert the YT-link and to select V for Video or A for Audio. Then the file will be immediately downloaded. I use the script with @nicolaasjan's yt-dlp/youtube-dl releases and @Reino's last ffmpeg release. Now, my downloaded video and audio files also contain a thumbnail and metadata.1 point

It gets brighter with each version, I don't know what could be the reason, Declining eyesight of the developer. maybe? Normal chrome is of deep rich blue colour, supermium is washed out to just light blue.1 point
