  1. 1. The Use new font for classic UI checkbox works on the desktop icons, Explorer UI, date and time in the tray and most of the Start menu elements, but taskbar labels stay in the old Segoe UI, so it looks jarring next to the updated date and time in the tray. Any way to make the taskbar labels follow suit? 2. With transparency disabled (energy saver on my laptop) I see this visual glitch when switching between dark and light themes (taskbar label color changes to black but the taskbar background does not). The only fix is to toggle transparency back on (then off again). Is this fixable? Thanks for taking a look.

  2. --ignore-certificate-errors will bypass all of the cert errors for you on XP. But it's a security risk.

  6. @Outbreaker This is my last working acpi.sys for XP SP3, bit32. https://ufile.io/aijaqmds I modded such a lot of other acpi.sys, but they are always very special for ONE Bsod. This acpi.sys above will work for nearly all desktop pcs from 1999 to 2025 for XP. But for newer notebooks (starting from 2015) there are a lot of different hurdles, mostly in the underlying DSDT for its graphic card Dietmar

  7. I think people already mentioned a good set of flags in this topic that worked best for them, each user would have its own. It depends whether you use google services or not like gmail, etc.

  8. User allowed settings suck, they can be reset, ignored, etc. Policies also suck. they're for goofs, you're better off with CMD flags applied at the start, This is what I call "hardening".

  11. Tommy would probably want to still not disclose his real location. I mean, he was doing it for twenty or so years on the forum, I'm sure there was a reason. Probably. he was stalked or something like that. I suggest we stop discussing his location.

  12. That's right in relation those who get "update the browser" (like me), but not the "human" thingy captcha. @NotHereToPlayGamesgets the "human" thingy captcha, so it's his IP they don't want to pass through. Probably, he's on a well-known VPN. @NotHereToPlayGames's error exactly matches the error from a Russian user. https://msfn.org/board/topic/185045-supermium/?do=findComment&comment=1272225

  13. Wrong, but thanks. And then again, I can get there with other browsers on the same OS. CatsXP of the same version works fine, Ungoogled 110/111 works fine. I can't run higher versions of Ungoogled due to the need of the Dwrite.dll "platform update" for the stupid coloured smileys,/fonts, which I don't want/not_going_to install.

  14. I'd gladly help you, but I don't have a high end CPU or PC. My most "powerful" is Pentium G from 2013? 2014? Supposedly, I can push it hard (overclock to the max.), but them again, it's not far from that old Quad Core.

  16. You ought to set your "programmer from 1990s" legend straight before posting, otherwise it looks funny, I'd even say boringly funny, the ends between what you claim and the reality don't meet. Proof: "Rust programming language first appeared only on May 15, 2015"! https://foundation.rust-lang.org/

  17. @Sampei.Nihira doesn't know that. He has nothing to back it up, otherwise you'd get the answer already. The user simply ignores when asked to point to the source. There's a big possibility of chatting with a kid who's simply having fun on the other side of the cable. Let's see why, you asked him to back his info up, give links, etc, of course no proof followed, as usual.

  20. Hello, I'm planning on buying new pc soon and I want to prepare a script that will apply all the settings from previous instance to a new one, but one of the most important setting do not migrate at all - which is taskbar. All other ones like start menu and explorer works, but can't figure out how can I do it for tasbkar and tray icons. I've created reg file out of HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\StartIsBack, but when I apply it to new vm - it doesn't switch to enhanced classic taskbar automatically (even after explorer restart using Stop-Process command) - and no settings are configured as I want them to be. Of course when I do them manually, it changes right away but I want to avoid manual clicking to a 0. Am I missing something here that I need to additionally copy or it's impossible to do? Does it make a difference that I'm trying to test in on Home instance of Windows 11 instead of Pro, which I'm currenty using?

  21. So I have some info to share for anyone coming back to this thread later. Backup HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\StartIsBack to save StartAllBack settings Backup HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\StartPage2 to save Start Menu pins. Check to see if HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\StartPage3 exists, back it up if it does. Set up new computer, reinstall all programs that were pinned. Merge .reg file with SAB settings, merge StartPage2 reg file and StartPage3 reg file if that existed for you. Reinstall SAB, all settings but systray layout should transfer.

  22. That's unfortunate, but understandable, thanks for reply. I've managed to figured out most of important options, but still can't seem to force taskbar to top of the screen. If someone knows how is that setup on registry level (or any other way) that would be great.

  23. That is by design, SAB hooks into explorer and stores its settings where Windows natively would. I wouldn't transfer these settings between PCs, it'll likely lead to bad registry pointers but you'd have to research where Windows would store these registry values. In other words, take screenshots and redo is the safest way. You can export HKCU\Software\StartisBack for some of the settings safely though.
