  1. @MilkChan Hi, try this one for XP SP3. I have others with some special modd for notebooks, but this should work for you. Good luck Dietmar https://ufile.io/aijaqmds

  2. @feodor2 To be even more precise, the actual culprit is the command goDoCommand("cmd_copy") if used in multiprocess mode only for fetching selected content on a page without actively copying it via Ctrl+C or using an associated copy feature in the form of a menu item or button. Normal copying content with this command works correctly. BTW, I am only talking here about the native command goDoCommand("cmd_copy") without the help of specialised extensions or scripts. For the purpose of copying selected content automatically to the clipboard, there are a lot of extensions or user scripts. Needless to say, I don't know if it is possible to fix it natively in Mypal 68. However, I personally found different solutions to circumvent this issue or bug in my coding project without the help of specialised extensions or user scripts. Whether the ideas of my solutions can be used for a native fix in Mypal 68 or not, I can't assess. Nevertheless, if you are interested in, please let me know!

  3. I think in this context, "older" means post-EOS, so Win 10 won't count for a few more years. Of course anyone is welcome here, whether they use an "older" NT-based OS or not. I was only pointing out that the very nature of this subforum will attract a disproportionate share of Win XP diehards, since XP was one of Micro$oft's most popular "older" OSes. I like that definition, even if not everyone uses the term that way. ReactOS is meant to be a Windows clone in the "style" of XP, although to be practical it must support at least some functionality of newer Windows versions. UXP browsers are another good example of that "retro" definition. They have the look and feel of older Firefox versions, but they do a halfway decent job of rendering many modern Web sites (as long as you're very patient).

  4. @feodor2 Again, same problem as quoted above but a bit more detailed. If you select a word on a page In New Moon or Serpent, the command goDoCommand("cmd_copy") in combination with the gClipboard.read() method fetches this selected word first and only then the last copied content from the clipboard during a second, following execution. In Mypal 68 (running in multiprocess mode), it is unfortunately the other way round. For me, it looks like an issue of execution priorities. So, my request. Can you restore the original execution order when this combination of commands is used in your browser such as it is in New Moon or Serpent? And just as a further information, the combination of the commands goDoCommand("cmd_copy") and goDoCommand("cmd_paste") works correctly in Mypal 68, though. Same applies to the gClipboard.read() method which solely executed also works correctly. @feodor2 After some tests, I can confirm that the issue I reported in my previous posts only happens in multiprocess mode. When running Mypal 68 in single-process mode, the command goDoCommand("cmd_copy") in combination with the gClipboard.read() method works correctly such as it is in New Moon or in Serpent. So, it is definitely a multiprocess mode issue. BTW, I really love to talk to myself.

  5. No reason not to trust @NotHereToPlayGames, esp. when the screenshots are given.

  6. Xp was peanuts. With a mediocre firewall, and by using the original Norwegian Opera, one could do just fine. Won 10 has so much processes, and numerous loggers running from the kernel. Could you slim down the kernel?

  7. How's FPS in games? That driver branch is 4 years old. Why no ray tracing, no Physx?

  8. Odd, bad BIOS, or a broken board? Last time I remember the AHCI mode worked better with LGA775 boards in 2006-2007.

  10. New versions after 4.6.2, or even after 4.5, will slow down a dated PC to a crawl. Did you see the amount of files Net 4.7.2 installs? P.S. More importantly, serious software doesn't need it. I wonder why nVidia doesn't need it, and Intel does, what for? Just to show their primitive/simplistic and ugly UI?

  11. I don't trust any those "new" on-the-bench-hacked Win10 drivers will bring more FPS to an old OS and/or 12-15 years old Vista/XP chipsets. Do you honestly believe Intel employees do real world testing on that e-waste? P.S. I even doubt they have something from over 3-4 years old at their testing lab.

  12. Makes my OS brighter, like it's highlighted by cheap blue leds. Reverting isn't possible, it's uninstallable. Also, the framerates in games drop. It patches way too much files in the OS. And for what purpose, to install a driver?

  13. What about the good ol' TESTSIGNING? bcdedit.exe /set loadoptions DDISABLE_INTEGRITY_CHECKS bcdedit.exe /set TESTSIGNING ON Reboot and install then after the installation bcdedit.exe /set TESTSIGNING OFF reboot again.

"Kaspersky AV software uninstalls itself and mounts UltraAV in its place" "Kaspersky replaced with UltraAV in the US" https://software.informer.com/Stories/kaspersky-replaced-with-ultraav-in-the-us.html My ancient version of Kaspersky still updates OK: Update on 12Apr2025: the 3 screenshots here were deleted, but can be seen at http://web.archive.org/web/20250412184845/https://msfn.org/board/topic/184730-antimalware-firewall-and-other-security-programs-for-windows-xp-working-in-2023-and-hopefully-beyond/page/80/

  15. Hi @genieautravail, Please try the alternative build I recently uploaded https://github.com/josealf/stunnel-win32/blob/master/stunnel-win32-5.73-openssl-3.0.15-installer-nosse2.exe I understand the SSE2 instructions were added by my OpenSSL build; I added the option to explicitly disable that. Let us know if that works.

  16. TBH, there are more offline on demand scanners which are most recent in terms of engine and virus defhinitions. For example, eScanAV Anti-Virus Toolkit (MWAV) or RogueKiller Anti-Malware Free. The more rare ones are antimalware programmes with real-time protection in Windows XP. In any case, it is good to list other programmes for Windows XP here, whether they are offline scanners or fully-fledged antimalware programmes with real-time protection.

  17. ... From the linked homepage : ... thus innounpacker-setup.exe (of v1.9.5) won't run on XP ; hence the suggestion by its author, echoed by @we3fan here ; however, the German author has not yet updated the application to v1.9.5 (on purpose? ), as the zipped distribution is still on v1.9.4 ; since the CLI tool is XP-compatible (thanks @AstroSkipper ), one can use it (on XP) to unpack innounpacker-setup.exe and ascertain whether the main GUI executable, InnoUnpack.exe, of latest v1.9.5, can launch under XP SP3 x86 ... Name and surname corrected in original post ... Thanks for that, too; a freeware in its basic functions, a donationware if you want "advanced" features ; of notable mention the ability of the (third-party-hosted) installer to perform a "portable" installation ...

  18. @genieautravail, Sure! I will prepare a special build not requiring SSE2 for older CPUs and let you know when it’s ready to test. I understand SSE2 can really help with the crypto performance, so most likely the main build will require SSE2. Regards Jose

  21. Unfortunately, you did. This sentence is written in inverted commas and in the first person. Thus, you speak in my place. I said: "one" is an impersonal pronoun and therefore does not refer to you personally. AstroSkipper

  22. You seem to like putting words in other people's mouths. Unfortunately, you can only fail with that, unless one is a comedian or a clairvoyant. Fifteen months ago, I couldn't care less what was going on with Kaspersky. I didn't and don't use this programme anyway. A few months ago, I wrote about the warning from BSI in the old antivirus thread. And now, I have come to the decision already posted. I'm actually listing all the available security programmes for Windows XP here in this thread, but Kaspersky will definitely not be on my list anymore. No more and no less.
