  1. Anytime you see a message like this from a Web site, the first thing you should try is a user agent override. 90% of the time the site is just checking your user agent and displaying a message like that to try to frighten you into upgrading to the latest Googleware. Since NM 28 works, try starting FF 45, going to about:config, and setting general.useragent.override to Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; Win64; x64; rv:4.8) Goanna/20211001 PaleMoon/28.10.4a1. Then try your Web site again. It will probably either work, or give you a blank page a la NM 27. If you get the blank page, you'll probably have to consider a UXP-based browser like NM 28 (but @roytam1 has others to choose from). You can reset the above pref after you're done testing.

  2. I don't want to read these articles, waste of time, I trust your judgment.

  3. And there are a lot of games that were written to use Flash that some still like to play. To be fair, with Flash's long-anticipated "official" demise, almost everything on the Web was rewritten, as was any new software. So your odds of needing it in a modern browser are low.

  4. But we have the freedom of choice on the web - to reject what is bad and choose what is good, choose the good grain and reject the bad grain. Stay wise!

  5. Friend , don't waste your time on obsolete junk , couple of months ahead and v13. will start to show it's old age too. It can't even properly do java at github and "modern" websites , as of now . Don't forget we're at Chrome 98 already ! At the insane rate they "update" (read bloat) websites we won't be able to browse web soon . I looked into v21 for you , no way it will run on XP64 , it's just too much to modify ! One would need to edit the code and remove certain portion sof it. You can't simply cheat with the replaced APIs anymore. Besides , it's a huge telemetry bloated mess. Well, let's say we start to mod it , but it will be obsolete by the time we finish because I'll be pretty busy in the next year.

  6. Dear XP lovers , sorry to be the bearer of sad news , the new version of 360 Explorer (21) doesn't support XP at all , perhaps you already know. I think it will work on Vista with the EX-kernel , don't have time to test . And it is so heavily bloated !

  7. @win32 and the others , thank you all , no , nothing of these worked . If you're curious , I found drivers from 2018 made by (I don't know actually, lol , no info in the readme) , but not on this forum . I'm not sure about posting links , but the readme inside the package says : "...drivers for Hudson-3/Bolton/Avalon/KernCZ family chipsets Version 1.1.0.0276 Release date 12/04/2018" . These are the only ones that worked on Q87 and B85 . I still need to try on H110 chipset , though. I do not have anything else to test on. I think the problems with win32's drivers are : 1st - they don't have my device in their inf , they do not even have Vista 6.0 section , also they are meant for 3.0 , while my device is 3.1 . Win32 , I guess you added your device into the inf ? So , with the ones I found , I get 3.1 speeds , I have an external enclosure with 3.1 abilities and the speeds are just awesome ! Way more than 150mbps. Win32 , I can share via PM , if needed.

  8. I confirm this issue on my PC. Also about this new option: you have selected the Display variant, which as the name says it’s intended for large sizes. You should replace the old Segoe static font with Segoe UI Variable Text. Otherwise, the fonts look worse because of the selected font family.

  9. Wow! Am I dreaming?! Vista Extended Kernel is a reality?! Thank you, @win32 for putting work into this project and bringing it to fruition, and creating this tutorial. This is something that has been discussed & yearned for among those of us "old-timers" in the Vista community as early back as 2013/2014, and the closest thing we ever got was @smeezekitty's proxy stub DLL wrappers for Adobe Reader DC & Catalyst Omega, but unfortunately he has been inactive since 2016 I never thought anyone would ever come forward with a full-blown extended kernel project. This is very exciting & promising as I had planned to stick with Windows Vista indefinitely, but worried for the future as software support (namely browsers) has continued to diminish. I'm not much experienced with any kind of coding, but if I can be of help in any way, do let me know. I apologize to everyone here in the Vista community for being so inactive lately. Being an "essential" employee (letter carrier for USPS) during a pandemic is not easy! Package volume is through the roof since no one (understandably) wants to get out Hope everyone here is staying safe.
