December 31, 200619 yr Hello, I'm using nLite 1.3 beta and I have no idea what the windows source files are.[ ] Please help! Where are these files?
December 31, 200619 yr You can either copy your XP cd to a local hard drive or use this method..http://unattended.msfn.org/unattended.xp/view/web/3/jd
December 31, 200619 yr Author Thanks! Except that my PC is a Dell and doesn't come with a Windows CD . Is there anything else that I can do?
December 31, 200619 yr you can contact dell and order the correct install media instead of the 'recovery cd' they ship.
December 31, 200619 yr Just download the correct version, nothing illegal about that.If you have WinXP Home OEM then you can use any Home OEM.You have to also check your CD Keytry thishttp://www.magicaljellybean.com/keyfinder.shtml
December 31, 200619 yr Look in your Windows folder, normaly there is a folder called "I386". This is the folder that you need.
December 31, 200619 yr Author One more question, do you need the file 'win51ic' for a bootable cd? What if the I386 folder tops 700 MB? can you make a bootable DVD?
December 31, 200619 yr Author One more thing: when I tried to install windows through the boot cd, it prompted me to install Service Pack 2 through a floppy drive. The thing is, I don't have a drive A. Is there a workaround for this problem?
January 1, 200719 yr and you can integrate many other things with nLite, try RyanVM files in my signature (it contains all updates released next SP2)Good luck
January 1, 200719 yr Author I just tried to slipstream SP 2 into the iso, except that it's not allowing me to, :realmad: help!
January 1, 200719 yr I just tried to slipstream SP 2 into the iso, except that it's not allowing me to, help!are you using a pure XP source, or using a source that has been touched before? Also are you using XP with SP1 for sure? or you are already using XP with SP2?What is the error you receive?
January 1, 200719 yr Author I'm using XP home with service pack 2, and by pure install file I assume that you mean it's not been touched or tampered with, so yes to that also.
