chilifrei64 Posted August 21, 2006 Posted August 21, 2006 Search by KB number would be cool.. Great product by the way.. This has already come in handy when Windows update stopped responding on one of my PC's.
maxximum Posted August 21, 2006 Posted August 21, 2006 Can you add :- Show date of KB- Search by KB's date - Link to go directly to KB page on MS website. Thanks !
XPero Posted August 22, 2006 Posted August 22, 2006 Why not converting this app into an alternative to Microsoft Update? Just my thought
Boworr Posted August 22, 2006 Posted August 22, 2006 I just found this yesterday, so here are a few immediate ideas for the future.Only toggle files you've not downloaded before - currently it will simply download everything you mark, even if you've already downloaded it beforeFlag new patches that you don't have in a different colour/iconScan the local machine and check which patches are installed/not installed and then toggle the selection list based on what is/is not installed alreadyPlease don't automatically launch IE to go to the Updates page or Forums.. use the default system browser.Automatic update of patch lists for a given language.Ability to install a patch once downloaded.. (right click - deploy patch)Automatic downloading of new patches in the background. If the patch list can be automatically updated, I'd like this to sit in the system tray and automatically download the patch too, then notify me.Links to the technote/patch notes (right click - view technote)This is already a really useful tool, having patches by product locally is great.
secowu Posted August 23, 2006 Posted August 23, 2006 can we add this function? tksauto detect what patch has been installed and auto select which not, also remark.tks again
mhyll Posted August 23, 2006 Posted August 23, 2006 (edited) can we add this function? tksauto detect what patch has been installed and auto select which not, also remark.tks againI think that would be great!!!But I will appreciate, if the program will check, which updates are downloaded in the specified directory and which not and download only the missing ones. Also auto-creating MD5 checksum of downloaded files will be good. ozkanyavuz Posted August 23, 2006 Posted August 23, 2006 Downloading via proxy authentication server will be good.
Zxian Posted August 24, 2006 Posted August 24, 2006 Also auto-creating MD5 checksum of downloaded files will be good. What what would you compare the MD5 sum to? AFAIK, Microsoft does not supply hashes of their files, but the installers have internal CRC checks, so they won't run unless they're complete.
