ricktendo Posted July 6, 2007 Posted July 6, 2007 (edited) Shark I went ahead and updated your Editable WLM 8.5 BETA (until you get off dialup) with the latest MSP (MSI patch) from the Microsoft Update Website, I grabed it from "%WinDir%\SoftwareDistribution\Download\fcc64ce2be28a1556a0e19610ad7a737\MsnMsgs_rootw.cab" and slipstreamed it into the your admin live messenger editable installer and Microsoft Update and Add Remove Programs shows it as v8.5.1238.0601 100% updatedI slipstreamed it kinda like you do with Office 2003 msp updates and it worked... I used this switch:msiexec /p MsnMsgs_rootw.msp /a wlm85.msi /qbObsoleteP.S. Will you soon update the tutorial to show how you changed the Start Menu shortcut? Edited September 7, 2007 by ricktendo64

Shark007 Posted July 29, 2007 Author Posted July 29, 2007 Why not make one without ads and without the rest of the crap? because everyone's opinion of what to remove and not remove differs. This is released with generic files so you can replace the files within the WinRAR installer very easily with your own patched files and not be bothered by what someone else feels should be patched.I would like to install it without Dr Watson ... Common Files\Microsoft Shared\DWIf you wish to modify the msi installer to remove these items, by all means , go ahead.shark
