yes its possible to make a windows xp home boot from a thumb drive

Just wondering is the firewall optional and does hibernation work, cause i wouldnt mind testing it on a laptop when it comes out.

vmware has been a big success

audio driver isn't installed, but vmware svga i installed

24 MB ram usage in vmware, not bad, but it will also do great for ati systems where it shrinks the loaded @ startup drivers to be more suitable for memory usage.

54.5MB in vmware, this will be what i sent out as beta two

missing all of reg shrinking, but very small still

i have a nice theme i found, that uses only 1 font, making it very good to remove a few xtra mbs

after this beta, i themeless beta will be out lacking shell services too, so probally less space again, and memory usage

there will a public testing yes, but not for a few weeks

bledd yup soon, i need to find a file hoster

i think there will be like a 5MB of space savings without themes, and probally 2mb of ram

anyone using the beta, must agree to the terms on the first post of the this thread

its probally a video error, where are you installing this? did you install the svga driver for vmware? if not , add back vga64K and framebuff.dll

beta testers remember do not share this with others, as its not ready for a public release, if you know someone who wants to test this, they must agree to the front page of this post and contact me

Been following this topic for a while looks very interesting. One question i have about it though. I have dynamic I.P and usb modem so will there be a way to enable internet use for me with microwinx?

yes there will be a simple method still.

you just write down your old numbers, and enter then manually

as long as it doesn't change every time.

Guess i might have a problem then. It changes everytime i logon. I actually have to logon to get a new IP. If i disconnect and reconect now it will change.

Maybe its time i got a router
