XPize 4 MCE BETA 1

Ok guys, Beta 1 ready. Things to have into account:

1) Download only if you're going to contribute to the bughunting. Don't waste our bandwidth.

2) XPize Settings needs .NET Framework to run. Download it here

3) Please be informative when reporting bugs / suggestions (Windows version, language, file, resource, etc...)

4) I will release a Luna (wizards images and custom visual style)) version and a lite version (no 128x128 icons) when all bugs are fixed.

5) Uninstal previous version of XPize before installing this one.

Everything looks great but...

Have you patched anything in outlook express

If so, all the icons are still the 98ish kind

Also i noticed in the old Xpize as well in outlook express the about box shows a big ugly old looking OE icon

And when new email comes in an icon is placed in the systray that is old looking as well

If not i hope you do one day

Everything else looks great, im still looking out for bugs

Also the Alt Tab replacer is excellent

as is the new logon screen - i wonder if a boot screen is evey gonna be made

use the standard one but after the little xp put ized so it would be zpized

would look good

By the way im using XP Sp2, its a clean install but i did have the old xpize built into my install.

XPize uAE v2 MCE Beta 1

and XPize v4 MCE Beta 1 the same?? if not what r the differance???

Xpize uAE is for integrating into your xp installation and doesnt have all the extras like uxtheme patch and stuff like that - i think correct me if im wrong

And the standard one does everything exepct unAttended installation

XPize uAE is UnAttended Edition

XPize 4 is the standard one for eveyone for Post Install use

So finally I have installed both UAe v2 and xpize 4, atleast no bugs till now. I agree with matt5108, the task switcher is really good looking.

The themes go nicely too. Good work!

In the "about windows" window, the logo looks ugly, I mean the logo stored in msgina.dll, take a look.

I've replaced some icons in outlook express, but many of them only support 16 color format (this is the classic problem for a full XPized Windows). Most of new resources appear in the address book.

I've been thinkng about a boot screen all this time, but the color palette is so limited that it is not worth making. We will see.

don't know if this is a problem with my system alone (will need other peeps 2 verify as well) but the timezone bitmap isn't working properly for me.

i uninstalled xpize 3.2 before installing 4 as well.
