Aegis Posted June 30, 2005 Author Posted June 30, 2005 @bigman1How's it going? That's a tough question . No, the truth is that I haven't worked on slimming it further because the nvidiabeta.zip file contains the slimmest functioning build possible.@tom_vilsackYou need an explorer.exe replacement.
tom_vilsack Posted June 30, 2005 Posted June 30, 2005 @tom_vilsackYou need an explorer.exe replacement.<{POST_SNAPBACK}>-what shell do you use to replace explorer? (what are you using in the screenshot?)-if i use something like litestep, should i install it before step1?ps: will i still need to activate 2k3? and will 180 day limit still apply?thanks...
Aegis Posted July 1, 2005 Author Posted July 1, 2005 The shell I used was Task Manager. You can use it by copying over taskmgr.exe and vdmdbg.dll to your Windows folder. Then rename taskmgr.exe to explorer.exe.I don't really understand what you are saying about using litestep. How can you install litestep without an OS?There will still be a 180 day timebomb and you can still activate Windows.
tom_vilsack Posted July 2, 2005 Posted July 2, 2005 Aegis:Got it to work using your shell instructions :-)How did you get firefox to load (from your screenshot) did you install before deleteing items in system32 folder? Im asking, because im getting missing file errors when i try to install after cleaning system32 folder.
Aegis Posted July 3, 2005 Author Posted July 3, 2005 Copy the missing DLL files over from your complete OS to your Firefox folder. Hope you post a screenshot of your install after you get Firefox working .
RJARRRPCGP Posted July 5, 2005 Posted July 5, 2005 It does look interesting. One question though:"SFCDisable"=dword:ffffff9dThis switch is said not to be working in post SP1 XP....?jaclaz<{POST_SNAPBACK}>Actually it's invalid with Windows 2000 SP2 and later, thus, all versions of Windows XP!

Aegis Posted July 5, 2005 Author Posted July 5, 2005 My suggestion would be to ditch OE, given its many issues, and get an alternative.
dirtwarrior Posted July 5, 2005 Posted July 5, 2005 grafx1Tell me more about winlogon, is it a just a standard version in xp sp2? 15 seconds is fast
