It is one of the most impresive movies I have ever seen!I especially like the battle at helms deep ... Very well made indeed! And the Ents, they are nicely made too If you are going to spend your money watching a movie ... let it be this! Cause its just plain nice w00t Rating 10/10

On the HashDump scale of 1-10, 10 being the highest, I'd have to rate this movie as a 9....the only thing that could have been done differently was to add 3D glasses I find myself panting for the release of Return of the King

During halftime at a cricket match in New Zealand, Peter Jackson directed thousands of raucous fans in a series of exercises designed to produce "authentic" sounds for the epic clash of Uruk-hai, Human, and Elf forces at Helm's Deep. Jackson's exercises included having the cricket fans march in time, whisper collectively, beat their chests, and sound out a battle cry in the Uruk-hai language--a feat that required phonetically spelling out the chant on the cricket stadium's scoreboard. Jackson's quest for lifelike authenticity in his battle sequences hardly ends at the auditory level. The director previously commissioned the development of a new breed of computer-generated image (CGI) software called Massive. Massive uses artificial intelligence to better simulate the motion of individually animated characters in large crowd and battle scenes. Thus, every computer-animated Uruk-hai, Human, and Elf combatant at Helm's Deep will have a uniquely derived gait and fighting form, giving the illusion that every rendered warrior is being portrayed by a living, breathing actor, or worse, acolyte of the Dark Lord Sauron.

I have never seen such well done battle scnes,computer animation and sets! Two thumbs up...all the way....im definatly owning this one! =Drew

FthrJACK Posted January 11, 2003 Posted January 11, 2003 i sat through it not wanting it to end. i had seen a lot of the scenes on a "making of" teaser that was on TV recently.smeegle (Golem) is AWESOME! the graphics used on him are 1st rate.. imagine when games are like that? "hmm trixie little hobbitssssss, tricked us they did, stole our preciooooooooooousssssssss!"awesome utterly awesome, id go watch it again.my butt was so numb by the end tho that i think i left it sat in the cinema!
