bucketbuster
Are there any good and free replacements for WinRAR and PowerArchiver (and WinZip)?I tried a few, like filzip, simplyzip, ultimate zip, but I didn't like them.
lylo
Definitely 7Zip, it uses an almost identical interface to WinRAR, is completely free, and in some cases with its own format: 7z, has even better compression than that of RAR. http://www.7-zip.org/
albator
7 zip is too slow and big for me... I prefer ExtractNow and Filzip , both are freeware and standalones. To get more standalones application Go to my site http://standalone.atspace.org/index.html
icecap
albater, I can't get your link worked...Is there any problem about the site?
KenOath
I've been using IZarc now for 3 years on every OS from 95b to MCE2005 ..The only problem i've ever had with it is it wont unrar a huge file if it's encrypted &password protected by Winrar.Winrar seems to encrypt files that IZarc wont recognize. It currently uncompresses some 40odd types of compression formats & caters forall languages. Jeremy
I'm just curious... which one offers the most compression of all?The only thing I dislike about 7-Zip is that it doesn't have a Drag and Drop feature.
arry
I have never tried IZarc before so I cannot comment but I have been using 7zip for ages and it is fantastic. So 7zip all the way for me :-)
