titou2k Posted April 2, 2005 Posted April 2, 2005 i made a change without verification Now it should work. You are right, same plugin for firefox and operaPack of plugins for Real, QT and WM in Firefox and Opera
jmbattle Posted April 3, 2005 Author Posted April 3, 2005 titou2k, don't forget that some plugins can also utilise the .xpt component system to add further controls to the browsers. The RealPlayer plugin for example should also have 'nppl3260.xpt' and 'nsJSRealPlayerPlugin.xpt' in the 'components' folder.Cheers,James
titou2k Posted April 3, 2005 Posted April 3, 2005 does firefox need also this files nsIQTScriptablePlugin.xpt and QuickTimePlugin.class ?Pack of plugins updated
jmbattle Posted April 3, 2005 Author Posted April 3, 2005 I'm not entirely sure they are required by the browsers, but one would imagine they enable extra control or functionality. I noticed this with the RealPlayer plugin after copying the relevant .xpt files anyway.Cheers,James

Guest coch Posted April 4, 2005 Posted April 4, 2005 does firefox need also this files nsIQTScriptablePlugin.xpt and QuickTimePlugin.class ?Pack of plugins updated<{POST_SNAPBACK}>Well, I do not have any of those fles and I do not see anything wrong here, but perhaps some websites require them who knows?
Jeremy Posted April 4, 2005 Posted April 4, 2005 Those two files are part of QuickTime Alternative, I think. I have that installed and those files seem familar to me.
jmbattle Posted April 4, 2005 Author Posted April 4, 2005 One would assume it is for some kind of scripting support. I recall the BBC RealMedia stuff displayed slightly different information in the status bar when the extra files were available; changing the 'Buffering...' from a percentage to a seconds tick-down.Mind you, this was a few weeks ago, so I could be getting my wires crossed.James
Guest coch Posted April 4, 2005 Posted April 4, 2005 Hi does this mean you got streaming in both Firefox and IE working, would you mind indicating what was missing from my original process?<{POST_SNAPBACK}>same process but i register QTPlugin.ocx before copying QuickTime.qts in system32Any similar solution for the realplayer codec?
jmbattle Posted April 4, 2005 Author Posted April 4, 2005 RealMedia codecs are working fine in Firefox - are you experiencing problems?James
titou2k Posted April 4, 2005 Posted April 4, 2005 @cochI used your process here but i add and register 'rmoc3260.dll'-------------Now that all seems to work, it's time to think of an unique package.WM10, Quicktime, Real are readyI am thinking of 'libavcodec' from ffdshow and audio ogg codec. What do you think about that? Yes, No, More Codec, Less Codec?
Zoofield Posted April 4, 2005 Posted April 4, 2005 yes ffdshowyes oggand i also use VobSubbut if nobody else, better leave out. That is it!!!If this is something that is kept up to date. it will be cool.
Zoofield Posted April 4, 2005 Posted April 4, 2005 oh...and i haven't tried your pack just yet but of course we need a silent install option.Somthing i have yet to find in the codec packs i have tried.:EDITSwitches maybe ?/noquick /noogg
