U say IE is fast.Then u've obviously haven't used ne other browser.(tried opera?)Then u'll know.Each window of IE occupies approx. 6720KB of u'r RAM whereas in opera u can assign how much of it has to be used and there's of course tabbed browsing which doesn't open another window which is scrappy as it loads u'r ram which might be low!
