Hotmail upgraded?

Microsoft talked about upping their free hotmail service from 2mb to 250mb early on this year (2004). So far i only know 1 person who has recieved this, and its not me.

Mine's been upgraded last week... A friend of mine had his 2 months ago... I heard that MS had first upgraded Australia, then the US + Canada, then others....

250mb is a lot of space for emails....lol

Australia was actually the latest upgrade area. I believe that they upgraded users who used their accounts the most often. By this I mean like receiving/sending/ checking emails countless times each day.

Why I say this is because I opened my hotmail account back in 1996, while my friend got his in 1998 and he got his uprade 2 months before me. I know he leave his outlook express opened, which checks for new emails every 5mins.

just noticed my upgrade today, usually i use Mozilla Thunderbird so i never go to hotmail.com... i posted a pic earlier this week that had it at 100MB so it got updated sometime this week.

Transferring large files, etc. Lots of people also archive their old e-mails.

@tharkhold:People need more storage so that they almost never actually have to delete messages that they care about.

The new attachment limit is 10mb (as Drewdatrip's quotation says) .

mine got upgraded a few weeks ago, although i got an email 1 months before that, and i thought it would be in the week after... but i waited forever lol

It's slow and not verey user friendly.
