RyanVM
The /integrate command uses the GDR versions of the files. I use the QFE ones for my pack. I know I've posted the MS KB article NUMEROUS times before which explains the differences. Heck, I'm pretty sure I have even in this thread. Do some searching and you'll hopefully find the answer you're looking for.Did i forget to use the Search button before asking ? Not the one i was searching for but it answers my question:RyanVM how to SVCPACK update http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?...kb;en-us;824994
Bilou_Gateux
Thanks RyanVMSomething new for Win2K users. This new IE6 update is the first one to use this kind of HF for upgrading OS. Should solve the issues we having with GreenMachine when integrating IE6 HF to W2K RTM + IE6 install from SVCPACK.
Yzöwl
hi guysKB885250.exe /integrate:D:\XPCD\XP2\ <-- got it!!! remove KB885835.exe prior to installing KB885250.exeBut KB885835 is still needed! On XP Home Edition, I haven't tried a Pro version yet; if I leave KB885835 in I get a failure error when integrating KB885250butIf as above I integrate KB885250 first, I end up with an error when I try to integrate KB885835 laterDo I need to add one or both using svcpack.inf, or does this give the same error? Incroyable HULK
I am currently running a simulation with the 2 problematic hotfixes integrated manually to svcpack.infI will report the result in a few minutes...
Incroyable HULK
Working Perfectly! Don't bother with all the method suggested, all you have to do is to throw KB885250 & KB867282 in your svcpack folder and then add the line to your svcpack.inf.Here is my current svcpack.inf[CatalogHeader][Version]BuildNumber=2600MinorVersion=1MajorVersion=5Signature="$WINDOWS NT$"[SetupData]CatalogSubDir="\I386\svcpack"[SetupHotfixesToRun]KB885250.exe /q /n /zKB867282.exe /q /n /zKB891781.exe /q /n /zKB890047.exe /q /n /zKB888302.exe /q /n /zKB888113.exe /q /n /zKB873333.exe /q /n /zKB835221.exe /q /n /zKB873374.exe /Q:A /R:N (repackaged version)KB890830.exe /qKB890175.exe /q /n /zKB886185.exe /q /n /zKB885836.exe /q /n /zKB885835.exe /q /n /zKB873339.exe /q /n /zKB885626.exe /q /n /z[ProductCatalogsToInstall]KB891781.catKB890047.catKB888302.catKB888113.catKB873333.catKB890175.catKB886185.catKB885836.catKB885835.catKB873339.catKB885626.cat
RyanVM
well yeah, of course that would workBut at that point, you aren't really doing what /integrate actually does. Instead, you're just doing the svcpack.inf hotfix running method as described in the unattended guide
Yzöwl
@ Incroyable HULKwhat does (halt box) meanand how - KB873374.exe /Q:A /R:N (repackaged version)Thanks
Incroyable HULK
@ YzöwlHalt box mean that you will get a prompt and setup will wait until you click OKSo you have 2 option to get over this update:1- RegTweak instead of the Hotfixe2- Make a repackaged version so the halt box won't appearJust search around, you'll find them easily
