(geforce 4 440 mx & go..)
SiMoNsAyS Posted November 5, 2004 Author Posted November 5, 2004 the first demo can be viewed with all hardware type, i remember seeing it with a voodoo2 card and that's amazing the game probably is optimized for new hardware but anyway i've spent watching/playing a 90kb file 20min and that's unbelievable!
towhom Posted November 5, 2004 Posted November 5, 2004 Nice old game... It's so small because they pack a lot of info into the calls they make to DirectX and the other various video/audio/cpu subsystems... all textures/ai/level setups/etc are created with super small equations at start up. Awesome game
CoffeeFiend Posted November 5, 2004 Posted November 5, 2004 Yep, I've seen other similar demos of about that size too. The textures and other data is all generated in memory at startup (hence the delay to start). Don't we wish some companies like M$ took example and not overbloat everything so ridiculously? ...(btw, why would you post this in "media center" instead of "Gamer's Hangout"?)
SiMoNsAyS Posted November 5, 2004 Author Posted November 5, 2004 Been posted before... Still, very cool! didn't know about that, maybe i still wasn't a forum member @crahak, because most of that group stuff is demoscene, that game was only an exception
