OuTmAn Posted February 9, 2006 Posted February 9, 2006 Setup automaticly searches for winnt.sif on a disk.it would be great if setup searches also on USB keys(USB keys are a lot better and safer than floppies...)do you know if it is possible?I searched by myself, event at microsoft.com, and nothing about it...
sIn_maxo Posted February 9, 2006 Posted February 9, 2006 Mad_Evil:My bad... OuTman:Sorry but I cant help on this one...Maybe nuHi can aswer wayyy better to your question. Try to create a new topic and more ppl will look at it and probably help.Good Luck.
Stead Posted February 9, 2006 Posted February 9, 2006 i'm sure setup searchs usb pens, but weather it actually uses it, like if you put your sata drivers on a usb pen, it reads them, but it doesn't actually isntall them?
sleepydvdr Posted August 2, 2006 Posted August 2, 2006 Thank you, sIn_maxo! I am exactly what you mentioned in the previous posts - a future nLiter who needs an answer. This issue just came up for me and six months after your great solution. I appreciate your help on this! Some people don't have foresight. I have found solutions to problems in posts as old as 10 year on various forums. Can't wait to get my repair option back...
ideas Posted October 17, 2006 Posted October 17, 2006 the repair option and the $OEM$ setup folder installsso is it anyway possible to hav it both on the cd?
isidro Posted October 17, 2006 Posted October 17, 2006 (edited) + I don't believe in windows repair. if crap happens - I do a complete reinstall/reformat.and ofc good job on the explainin Well considering that if you change IDE controller (because of mother upgrade or Raid card) the only way to keep XP running again is to do a repair, so that's why is a needed option. No crap there. Edited October 17, 2006 by isidro
lhdal Posted October 17, 2006 Posted October 17, 2006 When I delete [unattended] section, I won't be able to preinstall drivers, am I correct?I mean the drivers installed with F6 such as SATA drivers. (I've included them as normal)
