hi there

i'm looking at buying gf6800 card (I hope)

anyways recommended values for psu's are above 300w (which is what mine's now)

so i'm in need of a new and good psu.

i've found aspire for $54

is it a good brand?

if its a bad brand what problems will I encounter??

Thanks

The P4 or ATX2 power supply has two power connectors just like P4 motherboards have...

@buletov

I had to buy strongest power supply since it has to hold two 80 gigs SATA hd-s, P4 2,8GHz, 2x256 DDR Kingston HyperX, GeForce 3 Titanium 4200, Pioneer DVD-RW +/-, Sound blaster LIVE digital sound card, everything nice settled on my Asus P4C800 Deluxe motherboard and firmly fitted in Thermaltake V1000A Supertower :thumbup

P4 3.0E Ghz

1GB Ram (2x256's to start off with, adding 2 more later)

2 - 80GB hdds (SATA)

radeon 9600XT 256MB Ram

Abit IS7 Mobo

i havent decided between these 2.. they are my favs.. just cant pick which 1 :P

Thermaltake Silent PurePower 560W w/ Active PFC (W0023) $146 (this is what ill probly get)

Antec TrueControl 550 Watt ATX12V w/ front control panel $153

Wow simons thats a nice looking psu. I myself have an amd 2500+ overclocked to 3200+ using abit nf7. One 120 gig seagate and one 80 gig WD hd. An ati radeon 9500 pro overclocked to 330/315. 7 case fans one cd-rw, fan monitor, a pci fan card (for blowing cool air over the radeon) all of it was ran by a 420 watt true antec. Now its got a 480 true blue antec which I swear by for stability. Not bad for I believe 70 dollars at the time.

Just my two cents ;)

@arkady187 nice, isn't it? :P

i have myself the levicom 420w (+3,3V 28A, +5V 32A, +12V 19A,-5V 0,8A,-12V 0,8A,+5VSB 2,5A). i've got 5 fans, SATA HD, Audigy2 PCI, Radeon 9600 Pro, CDR, DVDR & CDRW, 2 neons and 3000+@3400+ so i think that it was a good choice.

i must say that i specially like the dark look with the 2 blue fans :lol:
