youre sure? make sure you have it delete the key, then recreate it and set it locked...there was another reg tweak that someone posted that did only one of the 2 steps...either deleted and didnt recreate, or erased the value but didnt delete the key first...

I have a lot of things in my reg file but i cant findout why it sets the startmenu to classic look. Anyone who whants to help me out?

Have the same problem, but I have deactivated this option in my reg (during windows install t-12)

Did you disable the themese service by accident? also check your winnt.sif

I do not plan on installing any unattended programs. I just want to have all my tweaks in an unattended file.

Is it ok to put all my Local Machiene tweaks in my cmdlines.txt regtweaks.reg file?

also listed in their is a tweak that makes all folders/files show in the LIST view. I don't know which one it is, but I don't like it....I want my files to display in the normal TILE view. I have a feeling that it is this one, but I don't know which one it is!:

Hello all I am new to this community and to say the least i have found it most informative.

I found this tweak (can't remember where) ..lol thought i would put it up ...if it has already been posted i appologize.

Navigate to either

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings\Zones\0 (if you wish to unhide the zone for just one account) or

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings\Zones\0 (if you wish to unhide the zone for all accounts)

Change the value for Flags to 1, then reboot (if you modified the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE branch)

Start up Internet Explorer and navigate to Tools >> Internet Options

Click the "Security" tab, find the new Computer Zone

that's a great find but, there's a problem..

there's a unique identifier in there

i tried just adding the other keys, but they dun do the trick..

My bad, use this instead;

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Attachments]

"SaveZoneInformation"=dword:00000001

However, it should work without this key. This key only tells Windows not to store information at file level (applies to ntfs only) about in which "zone" you got the file you're trying to open. (Yes I know it's confusing that SaveZoneinformation=1 actually means don't save, and SaveZoneinformation=0 means save... stupid MS Logic... ).

So, If you added the other values as you said, it should work perfectly. Remeber to restart the machine after adding. Also, if you're using these reg-settings in an unattended setup, remember that many of the HKEY_CURRENT_USER keys must be added at the very end of the installation. Run regedit to check that they were applied correctly.

hey there, please I hope you can help..

I search and downloaded almost all registry entries you got.

I want the normal Windows Explorer to also apear with the my documents, my network places, my computor. I have found registry entries for my doc, my computor, my network, but cant seem to find the registry entry for Windows explorer.

That is for Explorer. That is the tool bar not the start menu. It effects both my computer tool bar and IE tool bar.

i'm trying to look through all these tweaks, and haven't found this one yet, If anyone knows How to make the programs list always be alphabetized could you post it. I am going to try and keep searching, thanks.
