I've heard there is a reg setting to make outlook express minimize to the system tray (by the clock)....anyone know how to do this?

my post got lost in the shuffle.

anyone know anything about this?

I believe it is not possible for OE, only for Outlook from MS Office.

To put OE in systray, there is a program that does the job.

Just google for it.

Does anyone know how to disable "this file does not have a valid signature that verifies its publisher" message when opening EXE files in EXPLORER? (NOT IE)

NOTE: I'm not looking for the one that disables invalid signature checking when downloading a file.

I use a few tweaks to customize the look of Internet Explorer, so instead of the default small buttons it has large buttons, with text descriptions. Plus, some of the stupid buttons are gone (like "Discuss") :

I did a little experimenting, and it seems like those keys are all you need, no matter how you customize the buttons. The values will change, but that's it.

Are we done with the registry tweaks thread yet?

The admin of the forum has kindly raised the printable (therefore "save ENTIRE thread as 1 html page") limit to 1000 posts. The limit was 300 earlier, but now 1000 posts is a wonderful level. So let's just end this thread before it crosses 1000.

Have pity on me :} - when I save this thread, I need to wait for a few minutes for it all to appear on screen - the saved HTML page is 1700 KB. The biggest thread ever on MSFN alright, and its in no danger of losing that record anytime soon. Now can we please have this thread closed, and a new one started?

Extremely long threads are seriously a hindrance to being made use of, as all of you who have tried to search this thread for any info will know.

well, we still dont have a entire reg file, but yea, I would say lock it and start a new one...and in the new one, just reference this one, so it doesnt get lost.

I just updated my reg file with all mentioned fixes and additions. It will be hosted here Johnny Do's Custome Reg Tweaks

It is now at version 1.1 and has a change log incorporated into it so you know if you have teh newest version. It does not have alot of the visual settings that have been posted here as they are pretty much custome to the individual. A few exceptions to this but you can look at the file adn comment out what you dont' want.

Perhaps a mod can sticky this link in a FAQ if/when this topic is closed and locked.

On the other hand, if you were referring to "print 1000 posts at once", then here's how to do it:

1. Click the "Print this topic" link which appears in the right-hand side of the line below the topic-title.

2. This will display the ENTIRE thread, with 1000 posts, in one page.

3. Use your browser to save this (File >> Save Page As) HTML page.

Now this HTML page is on your own HD! It is useful to look-up when offline, to save and transfer to another PC, to search (use "Ctrl+F") for something in the entire thread offline, and so on.

And all of these facilities are possible/useful ONLY IF THE THREAD IS CLOSED BEFORE REACHING PRINT LIMIT!

yes it bothered me I happen to click it accidentally :) and frankly I don't use it..

Since that post (which you linked to in your previous post) is a few pages away, there's a good possibility that its not as updated as JohnnyDo's ZIP file is. Anyways, that was the file I was thinking of to be the new thread-beginner all this while. But the new one seems better. Those who want the other all-tweaks-in-single-file can get it from the link in your post.

This is big, BIG, BIG, BIG thread. So you might need to wait while the server is transferring the page to be displayed.

As I've previously said, this thread in "printed" HTML is 1700 KB in size. And even as we continue posting these questions, the size is rising.

How long before this thread is locked?
