MSFN UI gets brighter and larger with each update. Hence more blurry and hard to read.

and within last 8 months or so i noticed on other sites and forums weird behaviour
sometimes screen gets a tone warmer (little orangeish), then goes colder (little blueish)

It's the new, trendy overlay they use to get the brightness up. MSFN uses the acidly bright greenish overlay.

But you cite/blame MSFN "update".  A picture is not proof.  Show me how the HTML CODE changed "before" versus "after".

Yes it is, or you want to say you don't notice the absolutely flat upvote button? Or the bigger tiles and fonts?

I don't think MSFN updated anything.

Agreed, this website does not offer dark mode so this topic is irrelevant in terms of site issues related to dark mode. The duplicated text for member status though, yeah that's relevant.

I do notice the difference in his screenshots if I compare Edge 94 with Thorium 117, both using that force dark mode for web content flag, old Edge is pure black, newer Thorium is like in his second screenshot.

My screenshots are from the same browser, ans yes, Edge has proper colours, Thorium is off because it's based on Supermium, and Supermium is always brighter, it has grey instead of black, but it's not a browser issue, in this case.

It doesn't have to, it's a standard for decades in Chrome, and huge text and tiles are seen in "light mode".

I think I found something for you, if you are really interesting in doing a Deep Dive.

Right-click on top of "Saxon" where you cite the text as too bright, access the "Inspect" and scroll down to this section.

The toggle these two entries and report your findings on "brightness".  I have a hunch that once you disable "text-shadow", the brightness returns to what you are used to seeing.

I agree.  But it is also not an MSFN "update", nothing has changed that I can find.  Nothing.

I'd point to the "mathematics" that your OS and GPU has to perform to take the ORIGINAL COLOR and redefine it for "dark".

Call it a "rounding error".  In order for ANY system to use "dark", it takes the ORIGINAL COLOR and performs MATH on that color, then sends you the output of that MATH.

#000 is changed to #FFF...  #FFF is changed to #000...  black is changed to white...  white is changed to black...  MATH IS INVOLVED...

An "MSFN update" would imply that the ORIGINAL COLOR was CHANGED.  I am seeing ZERO evidence of this.

I checked non-legacy Thorium 117, which has nothing to do with Supermium, now also plain Google Chrome 128, they both render those parts grey.

I also checked the archived version of the website on Wayback Machine from January, new Chrome renders it brighter, old Chrome renders it darker.

Also, these two versions are only ones that were tested by Chromium devs and vetted by larger population. Anything Chromium past version 109 that runs on pre-Win10 is unofficial and is vetted by much smaller population.

But Saxon is citing "same browser".  So I'm still confused.

I can not reproduce the brightness difference here.  My OS is set to LIGHT.

The Saxon text he is referring to is white text on dark blackground with OS set to LIGHT.  Even the HTML code reveals PURE WHITE (color: #fff).  By his screencap, it REMAINS as white text on dark background with the OS set to DARK.

Rule #1 of tech support: Never believe the customer until you have verified their claims.

I have no way to verify so...GL HF?

That's why such "support" will be ousted very soon and replaced with bots which don't have such "rules".

I too didn't change the browser, the colours have become lighter everywhere. The tile under Saxon's portrait was yellow, now it's of lemon colour.

The one that says.

Saxon last won the day on September 5
