Hi to all,

why use Google Search and then worry about URL tracking parameters?

Hi,

Because the results are still somewhat good, despite the known fact of censorship.

What alternatives there are? Miserable. Most of them use Google and/or Yahoo results anyways.

@Dixel

Yes you are right the other search engines are less efficient.
Everyone has their own favorite search engine (more private than Google).
For example, Kees1958 uses StarPage and has included 4 simple rules for blocking ads:

Neither this browser, nor this topic are only limited to XP

Browsers working on Older NT-Family OSes is limited to legacy operating systems (ones which are no longer supported/recieve security updates).

Where do you get the stats about the "whole" world?

*majority of the world, please re-read.

Link to a reputable source, please.

Most of the world uses Google Chrome, which, in turn, uses QUIC.

Those who use Thorium or Supermium (and care about trackers) should use many more filter lists in their UBO

ARC just released the final version of their browser for W11

Yes you are right but I use considerable accouterments in my Huawei smartphone.
I block the native tracking protection.
I block CNAME trackers.
I use a secure DNS with at least 6 filter lists.......but this topic is OT so I don't want to go any further.

isn't Huawei a black listed brand ? are you using Android or the new Harmony OS ?

I prefer a Samsung phone with a weak speaker than a chinese phone to be honest

Everything except new versions of Windows 10/11 is officially "legacy", including, but not limited to, Windows 8.1 and old Windows 10 (like LTSB 2016 version).

Do you disagree with? Here we talk about browsers for legacy operating systems, the ones which no longer receive security updates.

I'm not up to arguing (especially when there's no need to).

Windows 7 is a legacy OS.

A mere 4 years without security updates. You win.

LESS THAN 8% of web sites use QUIC.  The percentage of Chrome versus Safari versus Edge versus Firefox doesn't really matter.  The web site being visited has to support it lest the browser supporting it is irrelevant.

Yay!  My hope computer is still LEGACY.  Shew, that's a relief.  I was feeling bad for upgrading from Legacy XP.  But I guess it doesn't matter since my LTSB 2016 is also Legacy.
