roytam1 Posted February 1 Posted February 1 when I tried to edit content of my first post it returns "HTTP 403" after I clicked "Edit Topic" (i.e. https://msfn.org/board/topic/185966-my-browser-builds-part-5 )
D.Draker Posted February 1 Posted February 1 Works absolutely fine for me. Out of curiosity, I clicked on the first post in one of my ported Opera topics and didn't get "403". 1

I do wonder if there is something in content that is able(allowed) to be posted when the thread is created but changed(disallowed) later

It's been known for open hostility towards MSFN, some certain well known members especially, win32 for example, whom they even dared to ban. Not to mention, "ecl" hosts rather dubious content, like edited ISO images, forbidden here at MSFN, but it's just my guess. Another reason, maybe it's your IP they don't like? Forums are usually connected to a "bad IP" database. Not saying yours is bad, probably a mistake? 1

I post from an unnamed Chromium browser based on v.119. (not Supermium) 3
Dixel Posted February 2 Posted February 2 I've just tried. I have zero troubles clicking on "Edit Topic" in my intro posts/topics. It allows me without any problems. 4
Tripredacus Posted February 2 Posted February 2 Confirmed Changed URL in first post to remove actions. 1

Well, since we don't have that problem, I'm starting to lean towards external (questionable?) third party content ban. As the last resort, can you try to login from another location, maybe? As an example, see, they can't add youtube URL to their post. https://msfn.org/board/topic/5150-what-are-you-listening-to/?do=findComment&comment=1259491 3
Dixel Posted February 2 Posted February 2 I can post and edit topics with links to official technical related web sites without troubles, example. https://msfn.org/board/topic/181987-list-of-software-that-doesnt-support-windows-7/?do=findComment&comment=1259497 2
roytam1 Posted February 4 Author Posted February 4 (edited) so other users getting same problem: https://msfn.org/board/topic/185966-my-browser-builds-part-5/?do=findComment&comment=1259648 so posting embedding links with a preview box causes HTTP 403. Edited February 4 by roytam1 2

Confirmed! The MSFN forum editor hasn't been working properly for months especially when it comes to inserting of certain links. Here is my report: https://msfn.org/board/topic/186048-msfn-forum-editor-inserting-of-certain-links-impossible/ 5

Tripredacus Posted March 8 Posted March 8 Changed title. The issue has to do with links and the link preview function. Other users get similar error just posting and not editing. Other portions of how the post editor renders content also effected. 1
AstroSkipper Posted March 14 Posted March 14 (edited) Is there any progress in fixing the broken MSFN post editor? For months, editing/updating of old posts is definitely a game of chance and in certain cases rather a torture. At this point, I should mention that I have a lot of posts which have to be updated on a regular base. Thus, I am particularly affected. Edited March 14 by AstroSkipper Update of content 4
