latest version "full page translation" still broken on several sites that used to work.
so, still not working as it did after the update from the zip file.
not available in the chrome store yet.

removed edge translate 2.4.2.
am now using TWP - Translate Web Page 9.8.2.0.
https://github.com/FilipePS/Traduzir-paginas-web/releases/tag/v9.8.2.0
this one also works on logged in sites without disabling the login or asking for cookies again.
also has "text to speech" on translated selected text and has dark mode option.

I've just manually installed version 2.4.2 and it seems fine.
Can you give me an example of a site where it doesn't work for you?

Seems fine on the MSFN pages for me, although I am translating English to English!
No error messages though.
The Chinese github pages I agree do not do anything when page translate is called, but translation of selections does still work.

v2.4.2 it is partially fixed but not for all languages / sites.
as a test , try it on the msfn page and you will see the same error as in v2.4.1.

there's no error prompt, it translates this site perfectly

on the other hand I tried to install it on 13.5 r8 and it just doesn't work.

I installed it on 13.5 r7 and the top white square containing the languages has been cut off and half of them are unseen

it's a screenshot of W7 but it behaves similarly on XP

for some reason it now works for me on the msfn page as a test. (eng to eng)
this time i used the 2.4.2 crx file though.
however from the above link it is reported as "still buggy".

found the reason why on several sites the "page translate" does not work for me.
edge translate v2.4.2 now has a conflict with extensions that block javascript.
when javascript is disabled on a site, "page translation" will not work.
tested with uBlock Origin and NoScript.

That is indeed strange.
I've tried several other websites in Chinese, and it works on all of them.
I wonder if it's because although that particular GitHub page is in Chinese, GitHub itself isn't a Chinese language site.
I would still expect the translator to try though, not do nothing at all!

Download from here - https://www.crx4chrome.com/crx/1227/

You do not need Developer mode to install it, you drag-and-drop the downloaded .crx onto your Extensions page.

I do need the Developer mode because this extension includes an auto-updater

as soon as I reboot the browser it switches from 1.58 to 1.76 and stops working

I have checked the .json file but not sure what code bits do I have to remove....

I'm using the un-ungoogled version, and I have never seen any of my extensions auto-update anyway.
Clicking the 'Update extensions now' button appears to do nothing.
As I do have extensions whose current versions don't work with 360Chrome, I'm very happy with that!
I've not done anything knowingly to prevent auto-updating.

My 360Chrome isn't un-googled though, and it still doesn't auto-update, at least I've never been aware of it doing so.
