Ublock Origin Lite (MV3) vs AdGuard MV3 Chromium Extensions

165 connections with r3dfox first launch.

But clearly several of them are with the "default" start page that you don't even know is there until after you perform that first launch.

Twitter, Facebook, Amazon, Reddit, YouTube, and Wikipedia have all been "notified" that I just installed r3dfox  :realmad:

The "portable" r3dfox is NOT portable.  Left crap in my AppData directory and in my registry.

The LibreWolf "portable" appears to indeed be PORTABLE.  Have not found anything "left behind" by it.  That wins applause in my book.  But not the telemetry stuff that seems basically no different than "regular" Firefox.

honestly i only get few strange connections (r3dfox)
rest are from speeddial thumbs always refreshing upon start
but i get waaaay less than you (varies from 25-46 max)

but i won't lead this topic in wrong way anymore, sorry for disturbing

Of course it's not! @Sampei.Nihira would've needed to compare to Brave with its native adblocker.

By comparison the genie in Aladdin's lamp is a beginner....:dubbio:

Obviously you can't use the internal adblock functionality of Brave,UBO Lite,AdGuard MV3 because they lack a Log that's why I used (in its most basic form.....although it served little or no purpose) uBlock Origin

I would caution you to not rely on uBO (or any extension!) to reveal what "connections" are being made by the browser (any browser!).

It's very easy for "built-in" browser functions to do whatever they want without landing on a uBO log!

It's also very easy to "bundle" an extension but it be rewritten in a way that the user isn't aware that it "does stuff" that it would not do if installed from the browser-of-choices "store".

Heck, I've even witnessed over the years where "built-in" 'communications' DO NOT USE the browser's proxy settings, they SNEAK THROUGH as a "direct connection" (I still catch them and block them anyway, lol).

What you see in the log (simple, without using the request log....because it would be useless) of UBO that I included in the image are ADS/TRACKERS blocked by filter lists.

Without UBO they would be blocked at the DNS level (but you would not be able to insert the image).

Without UBO + DNS,only trackers would be blocked by Firefox's internal functionality to a greater extent than Edge (on that website).

I'm sorry that you assume that I at 61 years old, after a lifetime in IT Security, don't know how to do the Firefox setting to get rid of all the "dirt" that is good to get rid of.......:dubbio:

Out AdGuard AdBlocker 5.0.33 (MV3 beta) interesting new request log:

in the image the custom filter (MV3 list by Kees1958) added with the third-party blocking rule in the test website.

I set the static rule for Hard Mode + TLD.
It works with the appropriate consensus rules.

You are absolutely right.
See the right part of the log in the image.
At the bottom, the custom list of filters used that can also be entered in uBLock Origin, above the rule used, still above the 6sense.com website that I had already posted for readers' attention.

Too bad that no member of the English-speaking forum has the curiosity to try the extension.

My daughter uses in her default browser,uBlock Origin Lite.
This week I had to increase her blocking capabilities with NextDNS.

My wife also wanted this additional protection in her Android smartphone.

I, who instead use uBlock Origin, increased the cosmetic rules in the extension by decreasing and/or leaving the network rules unchanged.

So 3 different configurations for 3 different users using different extensions or browsers.

People told you, uBlock Origin Lite wouldn't be enough, obviously, maybe wait a couple of years while it develops into something more prominent? (hopefully)

Does my daughter know if this symbiosis is perfect for her.
I really don't care about the “people” who said they didn't like this extension.
