lso Posted January 21 Posted January 21 (edited) I only just learned about this project - too late. After some sleuthing, I don't know what to trust. If a respected member has saved and backed up the latest version of this app, I would greatly appreciate it if you can share it. I don't trust the ones on github including the i486 repo. Thank you Edited January 21 by lso

Thank you I agree, I tried to download from the false account (not knowing) and both google chrome and firefox reports it's a virus, I would like this program as well, as it will give a new lease of life to win 7, as have no plans to upgrade 3 systems (2 laptops and 1 main all running x64 pro)
broken120x120 Posted March 16 Posted March 16 i486's repository should be safe. I haven't had any issues with it.
Atom99 Posted yesterday at 12:38 AM Posted yesterday at 12:38 AM Hey Guys. Iam new to VxKex and i would love to try it but iam not sure which Version is safe. I read the Thread and wanted to ask is this the legit Acc. and a legit Version of VxKex from dotexe? https://github.com/dotexe1337/VxKex Because I've read that it's supposed to be a trusted member, so this VxLex version should also be secure?

The original, verified account of the developer, in whom we had no doubts, was wiped out from the forum. People who tracked down those fakes @D.Draker, @Darth Agnon, @Dixel are no longer present on the forum, it's very unfortunate. Some members are still here, but not interested in Windows 7.

Thx for response. I saw on GitHub that dotexe1337 seems to be developing vxkex further. He also writes there that he was partially involved in the project with vxiidu. I didn't find anything else, but I was hoping someone here knew him and that he might have a verified account, thus making it a safe further development. What I noticed is that when I try to download the new vxkex from dotexe1337, Firefox doesn't display a virus warning. For example, on i486, which is supposed to be the latest version of vxiidu, I get a virus warning. Not that that means it's actually a virus, given the nature of the program; I just wanted to point it out. Simply because it would be great to finally have a reliable source for vxkex. There are so many games that can be launched with it, from Baldur's Gate 3 to Ready or Not, etc.

Iam not sure, that's why I'm asking here I thought maybe someone here knows him and works with him and can verify the authenticity. At first glance, it certainly doesn't look like a fake. The GitHub account is from 2018 and has 45 Repositories. He also have a Account here made in 2022. https://msfn.org/board/profile/435258-dotexe1337/
yoltboy01 Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago Generally said, I think that Windows Vista and 7 need better Extended Kernel's. Don't get me wrong, I'm thankful for the Windows Vista Extended Kernel and VxKex for Windows 7, however there are still plenty of Apps that cannot be run on these two Operating Systems. I hope we will get newer versions soon, as even Windows XP (with OneCore API) can handle newer applications better than Windows Vista and Windows 7
Atom99 Posted 41 minutes ago Posted 41 minutes ago First, we need a reliable source for this Personally, I think that in the case of dotexe, the probability that it's a scam is initially low. Acc. has been with us since 2018, has many repos, and is actively working on several updates according to GitHub, although the functionality should be able to be safely tested via a VM. An impersonator wouldn't actively develop further and probably wouldn't have the ability to do so at all, but is only looking for quick money via donations or malware. I tried it with Roblox Studio via a VM. It didn't work before with the last VxKex version 1.1.2.1428. It works with the latest VxKex dotexe version 20250704. The latest version, Google Chrome/Chromium 138.x, should also work with it now. I think an impersonator wouldn't develop the program that far. But maybe I'm wrong. Just my 2 cents.
