Tarun Posted November 28, 2004 Posted November 28, 2004 I believe it messes with your Internet speed and such.
daywalker03 Posted November 15, 2005 Posted November 15, 2005 Has anyone here gotten xFire to work while using Yahoo Messenger? I can't get it to work here.
Jeremy Posted November 15, 2005 Posted November 15, 2005 (edited) I tried Gizmo, didn't like it. My college A+ instructor mentioned LSPFix. Perhaps someone will mention this LSP issue to the XFire developers so they can fix this "issue". I don't have many games installed, I'm not in any clan so I don't have much use for XFire. Nonetheless, it is a nice app and it now works with Garry's Mod, which I play often. Edited November 15, 2005 by Jeremy
lylo Posted November 15, 2005 Posted November 15, 2005 Has anyone here gotten xFire to work while using Yahoo Messenger? I can't get it to work here.HAHA! I wonder if this might have anything to do with the fact that Yahoo tried to sue X-Fire!
Synapse Posted November 18, 2005 Posted November 18, 2005 nice resurect of a year old topic... anyways..yea, i've been able to run Yahoo with XFire. although i don't run Yahoo very often, mainly cause i don't like the look and feel of it.
Maleko Posted November 29, 2005 Posted November 29, 2005 Xfire is very useful, just really annoying when you get clan members on different teams telling where they are....for example, Counter Strike- seen it when dead players tell other players where the other team is, well annoying but doesnt happen that often
Synapse Posted November 29, 2005 Posted November 29, 2005 actually, i believe Ventrilo and Teamspeak are more of an annoyance of clan members telling the other team where people are going.. rather then X-Fire.althought.. i'm guilty of it so i guess i'm neutral. I tell my friends where other people are just to end the game earlier... its either a. sit there and wait on the guy camping spawn until time runs out, or b. tell my freind where he is so he can kill him.but in my group of friends, we use Xfire only to join the same games.. it pretty much goes like this "find a server" "ok" "i'm in" *everyone else connects*
tarquel Posted December 6, 2005 Posted December 6, 2005 but in my group of friends, we use Xfire only to join the same games.. it pretty much goes like this "find a server" "ok" "i'm in" *everyone else connects*Same thing here - tis the easiest way.Usually use skype conf call in the background for voice chat tho RegardsN
quinriva Posted December 9, 2005 Posted December 9, 2005 Can XFire access existing networks in the same way that Trillian does (i.e. is it just a client?) or would I have to convince all my friends to switch?
Maleko Posted December 13, 2005 Posted December 13, 2005 dont think so, it has its own network, specified for games etc, not a multi chat program
