[WIP] Windows Vista Extended Kernel

I have issues while trying Android Studio 2021+ on Windows Vista. The fact is that it worked on an older release, but in the latests releases don't work. I also had issues with Eclipse, but not sure if that's also related with Java control pannel issue and Android Studio 2021 issue.

The best Kernel is from June 2022, maybe also try Oct. 2022. Others I don't like, many problems, low FPS in games.

@win32, I'm surprised Catsxp v128 doesn't start with either kernels. No debug log created. Strange because they claim it's a Win 7 native app.

Could you kindly look into it? Thank you.

Most likely, you will not get an answer. Win32 devotes Supermium, I think, most of his time. Extended kernel for Vista I would boldly call abandoned - it's been almost a year and a half since the last version was released.

He could find a helper to work on Supermium or hand over extended kernel to someone else, but that's his decision.

From what I understood, win32 made the Kernel as long as Vista updates were keep getting released, now it seems to be over. Each version of Kernel required newer and newer updates to be installed.

The earlier Kernel wanted an update from 2018, and so on.

I read reports (lost the link, so we shall call it rumours, for now), that browser doesn't work on a bare Win 7 SP1 anymore, not to mention Win 7 without SP.

I'd say June 2022 is best for gaming, Oct. 2022 - browsers. Later Kernels demand an update which slows down my PC.

Oct. 2022 (and later) adds brightness, about 15-20 percent! Probably only nVidia drivers related.

It's a pity! What a pity! I'd very much like him to continue, I prefer to support win32 for this project, I only found it recently.

Eventually, everything's comes to an end, I too saw win32 promised to look into newer drivers and so on, doesn't look like it will happen, sadly. Yes, too much time already passed.

hey, I currently have kernel v10262021 installed, most drivers installed fine with SDIO (using an elitebook with a 3630QM and a radeon hd 7500m)

Can I update it or would I have to reinstall and then install the october 2022 kernel manually?

also what browser are recommended I can use thanks

Ungoogled 110 works with vistaexkernsetup_03062023.
