Which Updater Will I need for my version

Antimalware Client Version: 4.4.304.0
Engine Version: 1.1.13601.0
Antivirus definition: 1.239.573.0
Antispyware definition: 1.239.573.0

where can I get the version for my MSE

when I goto the Update version 1.5 It asks me to install latest Flashplayer on Zippy File, Yet I have the latest
Bit reluctant to click yes to install incase of it not being legit

Will we have to keep manually altering the mpam-fe file to have a older mpsig

are M$ aware of this problem and will it be fixed

I'm on a 32bit PC

@DrWho3000

Download the file "Fsq7t5WG2Av6m6g30k4xU81.rar" (Button Download now) from here.
Open the downloaded file with WinRAR or 7 Zip, insert the password in the "Insert Password" window and click OK. Now unpack the files in a folder and then run the file "MSE_DEF_UPD_v1.5.exe" in the folder. A selection menu appears where 1 and Return will start the update process.

I prefer to do the update manually, as I have been doing this since the last time the auto updates stopped working.

1. If I do the manual download of mpam-fe.exe every day and change the mpsigstub file, will the same old mpsigstub keep working with new defs files?

2. Where do I get the old mpsigstub file? (revision 1.239.450.0) ??

Or, where can I get an old mpam-fe.exe version? MS only links the latest one, other file sites have the same, they don't archive

You have to plug the link into the Internet Archive, aka Wayback Machine.

@sdfox7

It says "page cannot be displayed due to robots.txt". I never knew you could use the wayback machine to actually download actual files or software. Am I doing something wrong?

Is there another place that has an old copy of mpsigstub.exe  or the entire mpam-fe.exe from before March 29?

There are several options, one is simply to unpack the downloaded definition file and simply copy the .vdm and .dll files to the following directory.

C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Microsoft\Microsoft Antimalware\Definition Updates\Updates

After about 1-2 minutes it processes MSE and is again current, completely without MpSigStub.exe. What I do not understand is that they download about 140 MB every day where there are also Delta updates.

It opens correctly on my iPhone. I'll have to try again on a desktop system later.

Yes, I can open the PAGE, just like your screen shot. The problem is if I click on March 7, it does not display the page, and I get no file download. Can *you* start a download on your iphone and does the download appear to be a proper "old" version and the latest offering from MS ?

The actual link needed is

http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink?LinkID=121721&arch=x86

which will normally start the 140mb download. This link does not work on archive.org

I will look forward to your updates when you get a chance.

In the meantime, do you have any reason to believe that this file is a different version than the one currently posted at download.microsoft.com? It appears to be the same exact size, I want to say that on March 7 it was more like 139mb. Also, if it is coming straight from MS, they likely remove all previous versions.

Does anyone else on this thread have a saved version of mpsigstub they can upload?

I sent You a link via PM. Sorry but such links are prohibited here so please don't post it. ;)

Please substitute for the following links, click on any snapshot and the file will be served immediately. There are limited dates available!
