I forgot my Windows 7 password, how to reset?

I forgot my Windows 7 Password, Dell laptop, I already tried to remember passwords and tried all candidates with all possible combinations of caps lock, num lock etc. But none of them works. I need to login to my computer and get my work document, any suggestion ?

Easiest would be to use a Windows 7 install DVD, but that will RESET the password (which may or may not be what you want):

the difference is that this latter will not modify your existing password, thus allowing you to log in with *any* password and then from the "normally" booted system you can run software to recover the actual password you have forgotten and (hopefully and in due time) recover it.

A reset disk is the best way to do that. There is no need for windows installation dvd. Plus, computers with DVD drive become less and less now. Don't know how to make a reset disk?

Well you can put an ISO on a usb stick, so not having a DVD drive isn't too big of a deal.

The Linux Distros are extremely small (as in CD, not DVD). Got one sitting here in my "toolbox" tray. Regardless, any bootable-to-USB will work, Not sure, but I belive I have the associated Boot Floppy (set) for that same software, so any Grub4DOS USB stick should do it.

But I have no password reset disk, any other suggestion? I found many password reset tools like iSeePassword, UUkeys and dadasoft and more... most of them works but not free, is it possible to buy them?

The whole point of (again a little plug) of PassPass is that you need ONLY grub4dos and the grub4dos batch script, and not any PE or Linux distro, nor any fancy program, besides - addotionally - providing the possibility of recovering the old password (as opposed to resetting it).

Ahhh! I see! Therein lies the advantage then. Maybe the OP may need a link/links to a basic tutorial on booting USB using G4D? Or MAYBE read that PassPass link since it's pretty straight-forward and hass simple How-To instructions? Allow me to repeat it -

Most of the tools are boot discs based on Linux or WinPE. To burn the ISO to USB, you can use Rufus, ISO2Disc, YUMI, Universal USB Installer, WiNToBootic, UltraISO, etc.
