Is there any possibility for an installer for win10 b10074 x64?

I tried the Win8.1 method for scheduling a task, but the debud log says that the DLL injection failed at startup

Is it a known bug or is it caused by some MS patch that was issued?

Please help me with an installer as I am a donating member.

For me Aero Glass runs just fine in 10074 via a scheduled task that starts AeroHost.exe.  It must be run in the SYSTEM account with Highest Privileges, of course.

 

Here's what's in my AeroGlass folder.  You can compare dates/sizes with yours...

As I recall there may be some issues with using the Task Scheduler in a build 10074 that has been installed as an update, vs. a clean install.  Mine's a clean install.

I just install the one for 8.1 w/o the shiny theme (both boxes not checked,) then I go into task manager, the details tab, stop aerohost.exe, and dwm.exe.  I then copy over the debug files.  Then restart.

Edit:  It does try to start at bootup, so the above may be a new behavior of the Task Scheduler.  Or maybe I just have to remove and recreate the entry - I'm not sure.

 

As could be expected, DWMGlass now cannot hook everything it needs to, and symbols are not yet available...

Yeah, it seems that MS makes a lot of changes in DWM between each builds thus internal structure changes and I need to define new offsets. Currently, it is not problem to make legacy glass effect to work (without full glass safety zone so some glitches appears), but I will not fully finish it before debug symbols are released. Then I will release new official (i.e. not debug) version 1.3.2.

I think that's reasonable.  From where I sit it sure seems like they keep doing things specifically to thwart you.  You might as well wait until they release - though frankly there's no promise they won't continue to change these things the day after release.  I'll bet the phrase "they can't hit a moving target" has been used inside Microsoft.

 

Have you noticed that the "please restore Aero Glass" feedback messages with the huge "Me Too" counts seem to have evaporated?  People who are pro Aero Glass are being banned from Microsoft sites.

 

Microsoft clearly doesn't think Aero Glass could be good for their future. 

 

Apparently the folks who govern the "development of the brand" inside Microsoft have Absolute Power and really, REALLY want no one to be able to change the look and feel.

 

If car makers took this extreme an approach they'd make cars that couldn't be painted a different color or have any spoilers, racks, lights, etc. bolted onto them.

 

Sadly, those of us who'd like it to look different than what Microsoft prescribes, because we find Aero Glass more productive or just prettier, are probably just screwed from here on.

I have a cure for that screwing over by M$, Ubuntu MATE with the Black MATE theme. lol, or if your a real serious power user and must have a hundred and one Aero themes at the click of a button, then "MakuluLinux Aero" hands down (JUST BEAUTIFUL DISTRO). But yeah I agree, it feels like Microsoft is trying to push us old school power users out of the scene and drawing in new brain-dead-sheep recruits who are OK in a dictatorship "touch based" world. I don't need Windows, I just need a good looking powerful fast Operating System that I control every aspect of myself. Since Windows 3 I have always chosen Windows as my go to OS, but now I think I can see an end to that road and it may be time to graduate (after 20+ years lol).

 

However, with that said, Linux just seems way behind in the multi monitor world, which I have three. And games, even though I do not game much, I still want/need DirectX games. That's why so much work is going into the Xbox+Windows Store ecosystem and the new DirectX 12, because they know the world can not be without it. Linux really has nothing to offer in the way of competition. However, If I were a single monitor user and did not game, I would not even be aware of this thread or bothering myself with 10, lol...

 

Anyway, I hope the symbols get released here soon (because 10122 seems like the best build to date), and BM releases an official version of Aero (please), because I am getting really sick of looking at this ugly Windows already, almost to the point of going back to 7. lol

Well now build 10125 is out, and I am downloading it.  I do not expect AeroGlass to work on it, but we will see shortly.

I doubt very much if AeroGlass will work with Build 10125.  I couldn't even find the Control Panel option to change my color settings (Change the Color of your Taskbar and Window Borders) in the new build.  So I just copied over the new icon set and media files to Build 10122 and am sticking with that one for now.  Looks like personalisation is going to be more of a challenge as we move towards RTM.

DHJohns, I assume you're speaking of an unofficial build.  I can't blame you for leaving the official flight ring...  But I doubt it will have symbols available.

 

I have read elsewhere that all the icons have all been updated - again - in leaked build 10125.  Maybe there is someone inside the Galactic Empire that isn't completely corrupted by the Dark Side of Marketing.  Maybe their system test people still have some clout.  Sure would be nice if Win 10 starts to see usability improvements between now and release time. 

 

But there's the one BIG thing:  Having used 10122 without Aero Glass for a few days, in this state it's simply unsuitable for replacing a system that has Aero Glass.  Whenever I would boot up 10074 I would think to myself, wow, I could get to like the feel of this.  Now, without AG or even any color, it's like, "ugh, why does Microsoft insist on making this so difficult?" 

 

Anyone notice that the "sterile ice planet" Win 10 theme matches the eye-searing "polar bear in a snowstorm" look of Office 2013?  Maybe that's the way of the future:  Make the (free) OS match the (money-making) App.

 

If you stare at it long enough the UI just disappears.
