Couldn't get Version 1.2 to work with the WZOR Windows 8.1 x64 update (9600.16610.140201-1007). Pop-up displayed on startup while attempting to apply scheduled AeroHost.exe task and reported incompatibility issue while asking if I'd like to retry downloading of symbols. A lot of mini dump files were also noted in the AeroGlass folder. I've gone back to Windows 7 again in the meantime.

Hmm, so the install seems to work correctly for me now (not randomly running scripts about symbols anymore), however is there a reason why there is still no transparency after I install? For version 8.0 along with 8.1 / 1.0 I was able to have transparency but when I shut down and then turned on my PC the next day for 8.1 / 1.0 it never showed transparency after that, not at all working for version 1.1 or version 1.2, any ideas why it's not showing transparency on my computer anymore?

Also, what is that "shiny theme" or whatever it's called? I never cared to install it because I never thought it was necessary, but is it? Or is that just some theme?

Does installing while not plugged in charging have something to do with it?

I have a little trouble with the last version v1.2 AG is not loading at all with aerohost.exe nor with AppInit_DLLs...

Debugging without solving the issue :

- Delete task and recreate it with schedule.bat

- Info : Task was working with v1.1

- Reboot aerohost task

- Reboot System

- AppInit_DLLs with the value "C:\AeroGlass\DWMGlass.dll"

- Added C:\Aeroglass to windows PATH variable and tried with AppInit_DLLs with the value "DWMGlass.dll"

Debugging Part II :

- Defaut config without AppInit_DLLs

- DWMGlass v1.2

- Starting task "Aero Glass" >> Nothing

- Replacing DWMGlass.dll with v1.1 Dll and starting "Aero Glass" task >> Working

- I only replaced DWMGlass.dll with old version not the whole application files for testing purpose...

Temporary solution i found :

- Used AppInit_DLLs with the value "DWMGlass.dll"

Exact value : "c:\progra~1\agnitum\outpos~1\wl_hook.dll clkern.dll prio.dll DWMGlass.dll"

- Copied : dbghelp.dll + DWMGlass.dll + symsrv.dll + symsrv.yes + license.key

To : C:\Windows

- Reboot

It's working like that but i would use it with files located in c:\aeroglass

Also "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\DWM" is not loaded with that solution

Question ? :
- Classic AppInit_DLLs Config not working

- Aerohost.exe task not working either

- Can you please help solving that issue

You should not use AppInit_DLLs anymore.

AppInit_DLLs look great because we don't need to keep aerohost.exe running in background, it would be nice to keep that functioning way as a feature even if it's depreciated...

i know i should not use AppInit_DLLs anymore but actually it's even not working with aerohost.exe task in my system

Feature Request :

ColorizationColor Value manage frame color but also taskbar color, it would be nice if we have a feature "ColorizationColorFrame/ColorizationColorFrameInactive" to manage only frame color and not both taskbar and frame color

Intika, I also prefer to keep my process count to a minimum too, BUT, if you take some time to understand better what AppInit_DLLs actually does (it adds DWMGlass.dll to every process) you'll realize running aerohost is a MUCH cleaner/better way to run Aero Glass. This is one of those cases where it's worth having one more process running.

As far as I know the product doesn't distinguish between the Taskbar and other blurred elements. Thing is, it DID once, and that was removed (implying it's not a direction Big Muscle wants to go), so it seems unlikely your feature request will be granted. However, see what Big Muscle says on that.

Thanks for the info :) will edit my question... where i indicated that i prefer AppInit_DLLs

I know that "AppInit_DLLs" inject dll in every process, i did not think about it... thought DWMGlass.dll have to be injected on all process and i forget that it's DWM.exe that manage all windows frames... somehow dwm.exe inject dwmglass on all windows
