  1. bigmuscle, can you please make it default (like it used to be) where there is transparency still on during battery, or make an option during (or after) instillation for having transparency during battery? Having transparency turned off while on battery isn't logical in the sense of downloading this software in the first place.
  2. Thanks for the help. Also, I would understand why you wouldn't expect to see "people who can't edit the registry" in these forums, but I would say that actually would be possible in this specific thread as this is the only feasible way to get in contact with the developer and other people who use AeroGlass. I'm definitely not the only one that's come into the thread asking basic questions that are quite easy to answer. I'm questioning people that know what they're doing so that I can get the proper tools and then learn to do it myself. You really don't have to act as if it's some kind of ridiculous and annoying feat to simply tell someone to "use regedit" in an elitist, sarcastic tone. All I needed to know was how to do it and I will figure out the rest on my own, so again, thanks for the help. That's not my experience with this, I've been following and commenting on this project in these forums for many months now, downloading it through his website and donating money to it. However, you are right, that may definitely be the case for many people though
  3. http://www.lmgtfy.com/?q=Aero+Glass+for+Windows+8+disabled+on+battery -Noel Lol, yes, I've seen the guide - I'm wondering in plain English how I actually access HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\DWM (?) and then what method I use to edit this coding (Do I need software to do it?) @BigMuscle: I'm looking into it and it looks like quite the unnecessarily troublesome process just for laptop users to be able to have glass transparency on their freakin' PC's now when it's running on battery, this didn't used to be an issue with your Windows 8 version of AeroGlass because by default it was enabled all the time even while running on battery... It makes a lot of sense and it would be much more logical to have it function the other way around and have AeroGlass on all the time by default and let more technical people be able to go into the code and disable AeroGlass on battery instead of how it is now... Or maybe have a setting during installation asking if you want to run AeroGlass on battery or not.
  4. Oh, I found the issue that I was having, transparency cuts off when I'm running on battery, how do I get it to still be transparent while on battery?
  5. Hmm, so the install seems to work correctly for me now (not randomly running scripts about symbols anymore), however is there a reason why there is still no transparency after I install? For version 8.0 along with 8.1 / 1.0 I was able to have transparency but when I shut down and then turned on my PC the next day for 8.1 / 1.0 it never showed transparency after that, not at all working for version 1.1 or version 1.2, any ideas why it's not showing transparency on my computer anymore? Also, what is that "shiny theme" or whatever it's called? I never cared to install it because I never thought it was necessary, but is it? Or is that just some theme? Does installing while not plugged in charging have something to do with it?
  6. Hmm, it's still not going transparent for me and I still have that "black box" issue - just like the last version when I install it, transparency isn't added and then DWM.exe pops up saying: SYMSRV: dwm.pdb from http://msdl.microsoft.com/download/symbols: 78056 bytes - copied DBGHELP: dwm - public symbols C:\AeroGlass\symbols\dwm.pdb\34BE7E5FC12E4A8BB5DFBAC3D915A6872\dwm.pdb The box just stays there too, why is it trying to download symbols? isn't that not necessary? lol
  7. Could have something to do with why it kept working when I was restarting, but when I shut down for the night and then turned it on the next morning it wasn't showing transparency.
  8. Well I guess I'll wait until the next version 2.0 of Aero Glass or something, it baffles me how it worked perfectly yesterday but today it decides that it doesn't want to work at all (even after uninstalling and then reinstalling it).
  9. I installed it yesterday and added the key file, it worked perfectly. I restarted it several times after that and it still worked every time. Turned my PC on today and now it's asking about symbols and it isn't transparent anymore, I'm now also getting the "black box" around title text like others here.
  10. lol, you may have to put it in more plain English than that for me - What I got from that is Ctrl+Alt+Del, then go to Task Manager, then go to the "Details" tab to where I then find "dwm.exe" - I'm given the option to "End Task", is that what I do? And when I do that, what happens, would that interrupt my desktop? How do I restart the dwm.exe process after I end it? EDIT: Apparently you can also just simply restart your computer... lol
  11. The day has come! Downloading now! Thanks for all the hard work on this project BigMuscle, it definitely will not go unnoticed I'll be donating! Just installed it and it is absolutely amazing!! Thanks for the had work again, it works so brilliantly from when I last tried it, the issue where it went nuts when any office application was behind it is now fixed, so far no issues, love it! Also, THANK YOU for making an installer, very smart choice. @BigMuscle - So I donated to you and managed to get a license key and put it into the AeroGlass folder, your website says to "restart DWM process to activate your license." - Does that in layman's terms just mean restart my PC? lol
  12. Wait.. So you aren't gonna make a simple installer for the official product? You do realize that if you do that you will have people on a daily basis going directly to you asking you how to do it and you'll have to eventually have to make some sort of tutorial page... or just an installer after a while.
  13. Interesting. I keep up with Windows Updates and haven't once had the Aero Glass for Win8 feature go awry. -Noel I think its basically because I used an installer (AGTweaker) instead of how I was supposed to do it through the registry files, if you didn't use an installer like AGTweaker then you shouldn't be affected from what I'm reading
  14. Dang! Haha, so I guess I'm not the only one the just had Windows update itself into a crazy mess, I simply disabled glass from AGTweaker and deleted the application for now. Not including today's events, this software has been working perfectly and I'll wait for the full version (which is hopefully soon) - hopefully this recent windows update didn't screw too much with the actual Glass8 process BigMuscle, but from what I'm reading, the issue wan't your software, but the installers like AGTweaker. Best of luck on getting the final product out the door! I'll be one of the first to download it when it arrives, that's for sure!
  15. RC? Release Candidate? Awesome! Almost there!! Can't wait to see the final product. Even the v0.9 Beta 3 version that I'm using right now is really, really stable with a few hiccups here and there, but overall amazing! Exactly what I was looking for
  16. Oh okay, I already had AGTweaker installed here, I didn't know it is what actually did everything on its own, cool beans, now my windows are transparent! Awesome! Also, I'm guessing that pop-up issue never got resolved where it keeps popping up and says "use at your own risk"? I've had it show up twice already =P Uh-oh *Bug Report for Bigmuscle: It's working great so far! I have noticed that if Microsoft Office 2013 program windows are behind say, a Google Chrome window, then the Google Chrome ... chrome is not colorized or blurred anymore, it has the clear, non-color, non-blurred interface showing up right behind it, weird, if you drag the Google Chrome (or any other window) around in front of a Microsoft Word (Office program) 2013 window, it reacts as intended in some spots and shows clearly through in other spots
  17. Woah, awesome, thanks! So I placed everything in a folder I made called "DWM" in C Drive, I'm betting that I'll have to click on the "Load Glass" and "Swatches" Registration Entries to get this thing to work? SHOULD I? I absolutely don't want my computer to blow up, lol is this that stable? Bigmuscle says I have to point the Registration files toward the dll files too on the first page which I'm not entirely sure how to do... lol you know, I'll keep these files handy right here and I may just wait for the thing to get out of beta (which is hopefully soon, but no rush!)
  18. Hey guys, so I made an account to thank Big Muscle for his outstanding work on this, it looks like it is really working well now and I can't wait to the official release (presumably v1.0?) - I would install it right now but I basically don't know what the hell I'm doing, I can't open the ".7z" file that I have to download (hopefully the final version will be a regular, supported file version like .ZIP or something like ORelio does for his software) and I'm not sure what the best software would be to download a ".7z" file format. Then after I find a way to get software to open that file format I doubt it's as easy as clicking on an installer in the folder, lol Oh well, I guess I'll just wait for the actual software when it's out of beta, again, good stuff Big Muscle!
