If I manage to do it, reflection image will be part of the atlas file, so you will be able to change either by theme modification or by using custom atlas file. But it's the future task, now I need to finalize glass rendering with the occlusion enabled.

And if I don't want to use the whole atlas file but only the stripes image?

DoubleSAnimations: it depends how you install AeroGlass into your system. If you use AppInitDlls way, then yes, it must be disabled.

I'm new to the forum, I've been following this topic for a long while now. Looking forward to the final release. Very good job so far to the Aero Glass Project, BigMuscle.

1 small edit on the DWMGlass.dll file (Edited using Resource Hacker, probably the most basic program one can use. Idk)

29ehocm.png More Visble Aero Stripes.

How i can have the blue like you? I have applied your reg file, but no difference.

I re-did everything following post 219 on page 9. And it sorta works. But not quite how it should or it did once before I re installed 8.1 the other day. Here is a screen shot vq1u.jpg

How do I get the transparency clearer?

Strange thing here.

Blur and the BlurDeviation command work for the taskbar and the ClassicShell startmenu,

but there is no blur on any other window.

Any suggestions?

Edit:

I just tried the old alpha1, both blur and the second monitor work.

So I think I stay with alpha 1 for the moment.

i have got the same problèm but my aero work you juste need the Enableaero.vbs

' Enable AeroGlass v1 DWM For Windows 8.1' ### VARIABLES AND OBJECTS.. Option Explicit On Error Resume Next Dim WshShell Set WshShell=CreateObject("WScript.Shell")' ### ENABLE AERO GLASS.. WshShell.RegWrite "HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Windows\LoadAppInit_DLLs","1","REG_DWORD" WshShell.RegWrite "HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Windows\RequireSignedAppInit_DLLs","0","REG_DWORD" WshShell.RegWrite "HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Windows\AppInit_DLLs", "C:\AeroGlass\DWMGlass.dll", "REG_SZ"' ### REFRESH DWM..Set objFSO = CreateObject("Scripting.FileSystemObject")WshShell.Run "Taskkill /F /T /IM dwm.exe",1,TRUE

Error:

Your error is SYTMCHK: uDWM.dll FAILED.

Fix:

Copy dwmcore.dll and uDWM.dll TO C:\AeroGlass

and

Run these cmds until dwmcore.dll and uDWM.dll symbols are download:

cd C:\Program Files (x86)\Windows Kits\8.1\Debuggers\x64symchk /r C:\AeroGlass /s SRV*C:\AeroGlass\symbols\*http://msdl.microsoft.com/download/symbols

NOTES:

You can always CHECK if symbols have downloaded, by opening C:\AeroGlass\symbols Folder, and looking for dwmcore.pdb and uDWM.pdb Folders, If any are missing just keep running the cmds to download them.

Make sure you copy dwmcore.dll and uDWM.dll TO C:\AeroGlass after all updates for windows 8.1 . ;)

One thing that kept confusing me was it saying "SYMCHK: DWMGlass.dll FAILED - DWMGlass.pdb mismatched or not found". Until I READ what it was saying and realized it can't find debug symbols for bigmuscle's code xD

Copy dwmcore.dll and uDWM.dll TO C:\AeroGlass

It is very wrong idea to copy any system libraries (except of symsrv.dll and dbghelp.dll) into Aero Glass folder because it can load wrong DLL version later which results in bad behaviour from crashes to whole OS failure.
