Software worth paying for ?

I was curious to have your take on this topic. Beside operating system, wich software ( no games or antivirus please) did you bought ?

I will start, I have bough Alcohol 120 % lifetime licence.

I have to say I was surprised at what little software I purchase as there are now so many great free applications.

But this is a list of what I felt that the commercial solution offered something better:

Arcsoft Total Media Theater
VideoReDo TVSuite Version 4 with H.264
Zentimo
Mariner Paperless or Orpalis PaperScan
xPlorer 2
Movie Collector Pro by Collectorz
Photodex ProShow
TBS Cover Editor
Adobe Lightroom

I am real curious to see what others post here.

EditPad Pro is one of my favorite text editors. I've been a supporter of theirs for years.

I would have say Acronis True Image, but I know use the free version from Western Digital.

It may not be as complete as Beyond Compare...

ExamDiff Pro holds its own against Beyond Compare 3, for sure, but neither is free, and, BTW, they cost about the same.

Never had to buy a software as most of my problems have been solved using freeware, but once i had to buy a Data Recovery Tool to recover my lost date and the program name is Stellarinfo ...

I'm a registered user of CompuPic Pro. There are comparable freeware alternatives like XnView and FastStone, which are excellent, but CompuPic Pro is faster under Windows 9x. Not only that, but CompuPic's image editing features are higher quality. Each program has it's strong points though. I have all three installed.

I've also registered some cheap $10-$20 image viewers, none worth mentioning though, as I doubt they would be of interest to anyone.

I have a lot of nature photography that I shoot, so I needed the best I could get for Windows ME.
