submix8c
Did you try what I suggested? Uninstall Driver, set Compatibility on Setup, then run it?(BTW, I already downloaded the RAR - it has none, the original one from original link is wrong, this DriverGuide one is the one I have).(lots of items removed in the following fro brevity); MasterNT5.inf -- H215DT5.inf; Version: 5.03.13; Capabilities: Data Fax Voice Speakerphone; Controller: HSFHWBS2; Daa Type: STANDARD; Codec: 20410; Hardware type: D100[Version]Class = ModemClassGUID = {4D36E96D-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}Provider = %Author%CatalogFile = H215DT5.catDriverVer=05/15/2002, 5.03.13.00[ControlFlags]ExcludeFromSelect= PCI\VEN_141A&DEV_2015&SUBSYS_2015141A[Manufacturer]%Mfg% = HSF_MODEM[HSF_MODEM]%HSFModem% = ModemX, PCI\VEN_141A&DEV_2015&SUBSYS_2015141A[Strings]CompanyName = "Generic"ProductName = "Sevel SoftK56 Modem"Author = "CXT"Mfg = "Generic"HSFModem = "Sevel SoftK56 Data Fax Voice Speakerphone"OEM_STRING = "Sevel SoftK56 Data Fax Voice Speakerphone"GMI_Value = "CXT" ;Manufacture IdentificationGMM_Value = "SoftK56 Data Fax Voice Speakerphone" ;Manufacturer Model GMR_Value = "5.03.13" ;Manufacturer RevisionFMI_Value = "CXT" ;Fax Manufacture IdentificationFMM_Value = "Sevel SoftK56 Data Fax Voice Speakerphone" ;Fax Manufacture ModelFMR_Value = "5.03.13" ;Fax Manufacture RevisionUIPATH = "CNXT_MODEM_PCI_VEN_141A&DEV_2015&SUBSYS_2015141A"Don't know if this would work, but you could add the remainder (missing part) of the HWID to the string and maybe attempt an "Update Driver" (keep the original ZIP file just in case)....and when you say "nothing works", do you mean the Manager lists it the same?edit - ARGGGHHH! 32-bit drivers on 64-bit OS!!! Yank it out, find the Chip/ChipSet Identifiers (right on the chip/chips) and post them. You may be out of luck (it also has, if that's your photo of the modem, Mic-In/HeadPhone-Out) making it work. Worth a shot searching against the ChipID though - may actually find one to work. Edited April 23, 2011 by submix8c
ricktendo
One last thing you can try is turning on "Always install device drivers from Windows Update" and try updating your driver online in the device manager
Tripredacus
Full driver package is available here:ftp://ftp.wsisiz.edu.pl/pub/pc/drivers/modem/cobra_win_95-98.exeIndividual files (for inspection) are here:http://ftp.slavka.kiev.ua/pub/programs/DRIVERS/MODEM/CONEXANT/56K%20CONEXANT/WIN9X/I found these by way of searching for the correct INF name (S215DT9.inf) like so:http://www.lmgtfy.com/?q=S215DT9.inf+ftpHOWEVER these will not install in Win7 x64 because these drivers are not only not signed, but they are not even for Windows XP. You can see it is all VXD (the old driver model) and not a CAT file in sight.
