The File-Checker (HFSLIPFC) for HFSLIP

It's just to keep WU quiet (about 2934207).

Also, there's a new rootsupd.exe (KB931125) (march 2014).

I've added KB931125 to my list already.

As for KB2934207, it didn't offer to me when I checked it, so I don't know what to do.

Can anyone who got this update provide a direct download link so I can do some experiment to it? (Just use Wireshark to get the HTTP packets and grab the URL from inside them.)

Microsoft did not provide a link to download the patch. At least I have not found. So I created the addon with the files installed on my system.

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2934207

I'm using the INF file below to disable the notification. Is working well.

INF contents:

[Version]

Signature=$Windows NT$

Class=Base

[DefaultInstall.NT]

DelReg=ShotA.new

AddReg=ShotB.new,ShotB.changed

[shotA.new]

[shotB.new]

HKLM,"SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion","DisableEOSNotification",0x10001,1

HKCU,"Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion","DisableEOSNotification",0x10001,1

CMD contents:

start /wait rundll32.exe setupapi,InstallHinfSection DefaultInstall 132 %systemdrive%\TWEAKS\DisableEOSNotification.inf

Put the INF file in folder:

$OEM$\$1\TWEAKS

And the CMD file to run it in the directory:

$OEM$\$Docs\Default User\Menu Iniciar\Programas\Inicializar

Every other website I visit, I have no problem, but each time I try to access Mim0's site with Firefox, for example, I get a timeout error saying the server is taking too long to respond.

So it sounds like you might be able to resolve this through a router setting.

Since I last wrote about not being able to access Mim0's website, I was able to access it fine for two days (3/14/14 and 3/15/14, I believe) even though I had made no changes to my computer nor gateway. Then, after those two days, the previous problem returned and has persisted since. That is, whether I try to browse to hfslip.tk or to hfslip.altervista.org, I get a long wait and then a timeout error saying the server is taking too long to respond. All other websites I visit are loading normally.

On the two days when I was able to access Mim0's site, I was browsing to hfslip.tk. The pages loaded so fast I didn't notice whether or not I was being redirected to altervista, but after the pages finished loading the address bar still showed hfslip.tk.

In the next day or so I may have a chance to try again via a different computer/ISP. Failing that, though, does anyone have any ideas what my problem might be?

Thanks in advance.

Your "problem" is very simple and common, becasue it's not your problem - the problem is with Mim0 site/hosting.

It's getting better, but I also had some issues - bphlpt IMHO is wrong.

That often occurs. :) Without his being able to test using a different location there is no way to know for sure. I guess when he can't get access to mim0's site he could use - http://www.downforeveryoneorjustme.com/ - or other sites like it to verify if it is indeed just him or if the site is really unavailable.

Cheers and Regards

KB2922229: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=42329 (kernel32.dll) supersedes KB960417

KB2936068: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=42431 (IE6 update) supersedes KB2925418

KB2936068 is in three versions: for IE 6, 7, 8.

Users with IE8 should use both? - KB2936068 for IE8 and IE6?

(IE8-WindowsXP-KB2936068-x86-XXX.exe + WindowsXP-KB2936068-x86-XXX.exe?)

Is it correct?

That's all? - Just two updates in april?

I'm disappointed...

;)

BTW

No, if you are slipstreaming IE8, then use ONLY IE8-WindowsXP-KB2936068-x86-Your Language.exe

BTW, 2922229 replaces 2758857, NOT 960417.

No, if you are slipstreaming IE8, then use ONLY IE8-WindowsXP-KB2936068-x86-Your Language.exe

In this particular matter you're wrong:

kb2936068 replaces kb2925418 which replaces kb2909921:

"Empty dialog when opening "Organize Favorites" from Windows Explorer, when using Internet Explorer 8

This update, intentionally for IE6, is an optional update for IE8. It contains the new shdocvw.dll (to fix this error) which is not inside of the IE8-update. Read also the articles.

IE8: WindowsXP-KB2909921-x86-XXX.exe

As an alternative you can extract the shdocvw.dll (SP3QFE-folder) from this update,

compress it with makecab.exe to shdocvw.dl_ and place it to REPLACE\I386."
