jvidal Posted April 13, 2014 Posted April 13, 2014 (edited) that only happens in some strange cases. The "official" update is the one for IE8. Using the IE6 update is optional in case you have the favorites problem. The replacement info if you slipstream IE8 is that 2936068 replaces the prev. cumm. update. that's it. Explorer09 Posted April 30, 2014 Posted April 30, 2014 (edited) First IE security flaw after Windows XP goes EOL. Now blame Microsoft for not open-sourcing their IE6 or IE8 browsers. http://consumerist.com/2014/04/29/microsoft-has-yet-to-issue-a-fix-for-major-internet-explorer-security-flaw/ http://www.theregister.co.uk/2014/04/27/oops_we_did_it_again_microsoft_warns_of_ie_zero_day/ EDIT: Congratulations that I was wrong. MS does release an update for XP this time. Windows XP KB2964358 | MS14-021 | mshtml.dll (IE) | 42591 42588 | None Edited May 2, 2014 by Explorer09
submix8c Posted April 30, 2014 Posted April 30, 2014 @Explorer09 - DUDE! Why here in this thread?Additionally, you commented in the UDC for April 2014 thread. Do you even USE these tools (e.g. HFSLIP/nLite)? (as the member complains/uses "open source" solutions...)http://www.msfn.org/board/topic/171540-xp-eol-post-sp3-updates-downloader-udc-released-xdottk/Everything you always wanted to know about the IExplorer FUD and How to Counter It -http://www.msfn.org/board/topic/171674-mass-hysteria-on-the-interwebs/HTH
Explorer09 Posted May 1, 2014 Posted May 1, 2014 @Explorer09 - DUDE! Why here in this thread? Additionally, you commented in the UDC for April 2014 thread. Do you even USE these tools (e.g. HFSLIP/nLite)? (as the member complains/uses "open source" solutions...) If I never use these tools I would never be here. If you see some of my posts above in this thread, you'll see I also report HFSLIP bugs and provide list updates for Mimo who doesn't have enough time to do so. The fact that I use it doesn't mean I like it. That's it.

jvidal Posted May 14, 2014 Posted May 14, 2014 and what do those have to do with hfslip and winxp?????
bphlpt Posted May 14, 2014 Posted May 14, 2014 They are XP based and are still supported and so are still getting updates from MS, and those updates can be ported to XP to allow XP to continue to be updated beyond the XP EOS of April 2014. Cheers and Regards

Cheers and Regards Haven't tested them yet but you should be actually able to slipstream them with HFSLIP directly without making any changes
