Guillaume Posted November 8, 2009 Posted November 8, 2009 Just so you know that I successfully created a smoothly running installation (be it after about 6 trials). I attached the batch and the vLite .ini.Last_Session.iniremoval.bat.txt
sxxin Posted November 18, 2009 Posted November 18, 2009 I went trough all this Guide and it all worked well but one thing does bother me...none of the remove.bat are working properly..I always get an error "access denied" at every file the batch want to remove from the mounted image.I tried JJ's DISM Tool and GImageX Tool both with write access on the Image but I just dont get the write/delete access...any ideas? Also Im unable to remove Files in the image by hand (have got admin rights)Removing Packages with DISM worksRunning Win7 64bit and slipstreaming a Win7 64bit Pro Version.regards Sxxin

Try this:http://www.askvg.com/add-take-ownership-op...-windows-vista/When you have imported the reg file, right click on your mounted folder and click "Take ownership". You may have to restart the computer. As far as I can remember, that worked for me.

I attached the batch and the vLite .ini.What size did you get it down to? I can only ever get it down to about 1.8GB.Were you able to remove IE as well?Cheers

sxxin Posted November 19, 2009 Posted November 19, 2009 Thank you for the Reg file..thanks to this I could get closer to my wanted result butHmm thats weird when I execute the batch file normaly or with admin rights I get the same 2 types of errors as beforewhen I go into the folder and search for the files that are listed in the batch file I can remove them manuallyOf course I could remove all files by hand now but that would be alot of work and wasted time...*sigh* why doesnt those batch files work properly ?
theKramer Posted November 19, 2009 Posted November 19, 2009 when I execute the batch file normaly or with admin rights I get the same 2 types of errors as beforeSorry if I am repeating what you said, but did you run the command prompt with Admin rights?
theKramer Posted November 19, 2009 Posted November 19, 2009 At which stage do you get the error?I get an error in the cleanup phase (step 6), that i cant move beyond.
sxxin Posted November 19, 2009 Posted November 19, 2009 what cleanup phase do u mean?1 delete packages with DISM2 nlited components and so on3 deleted files via batch file(now it worked btw had to take over ownership in all folders manually, remount the wim file and then run the bat file again)4 burn isobut im still at step 3 so far
theKramer Posted November 19, 2009 Posted November 19, 2009 Recommended use1. Modify the removal.bat to fit your needs (just in case you forgot)2. Integrate Language pack (removal.bat langpack)3. Integrate Updates (removal.bat updates)4. Packages removal (removal.bat packages; 3/4: removal.bat pre)5. vLite (Component removal only)6. Cleanup of files and folders (removal.bat cleanup)7. Integrate Drivers (removal.bat drivers; 6/7: (removal.bat post)8. vLite (Tweaks only: reduce image size after cleanup)9. Test on a secondary partition or to a virtual environment (such as VMware)10. After installation final steps can be performed (removal.bat final)Having reviewed the whole thread, I think my errors might be due to my using Vlite to remove too much. Unfortunately I am away on business so I wont be able to verify this for another week Hope you get your issues fixed pretty soon

Guillaume Posted November 25, 2009 Posted November 25, 2009 I used it to remove most fonts, some I left in. For the rest, just compare the attached file with the original and you'll see what has been changed...

And when I try install system on Vmare or on the fresh formatted hard disk from dvd i see this message: A required CD/DVD device driver is missing. If you have a driver floppy disk, CD, DVD or USB flash drive, please insert it now. Note: If the Windows installation media is in the CD/DVD drive, you can safely remove it for this step. Can You tell me why ? It is possible that some package (what I remove by removal.bat) have important files, and that's why this message comes ? If Yes what package it's depend on it ?Please help !
